 Amen. That is a breathtaking attribute of God—His complete sovereignty and foreknowledge. It is the foundation of our trust. Here is a poem on that awe-inspiring truth.

The End and The Beginning

Before the first light pierced the dark, Before the soaring skylark’s song, Before the foundation was set and laid, The final chapter,the story’s end, Was already perfectly made. “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.”(Isaiah 46:9-10)

You see my end from my first breath, You knew my life,my path, my death. You see the moment I’ll be whole, Standing complete before my goal.

No twist of fate can catch You by surprise, No broken plan reflects in Your eyes. No chaos reigns beyond Your control, You are the Author of my soul.

This is my comfort in the storm, My fragile heart You will keep warm. For if You know how it will end, Then on Your wisdom I depend.

You are the Alpha and Omega, true, The beginning and the end for me and You. So I will trust this journey’s plot, The things I know,and those I do not.

For You who know the end so well, Walk with me through this fleeting dell. And what You’ve written,it is good, I’m understood,and understood.

I rest in You, whose sight is clear, Who holds my future,calm and near.
