Those who water will be watered

Amen. This is a powerful spiritual principle that reflects the law of sowing and reaping in the kingdom of God. It speaks of the blessing and refreshment that returns to those who generously pour into the lives of others.

This concept is beautifully expressed in the Book of Proverbs:

"Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." - Proverbs 11:25 (ESV)

The Apostle Paul also applied this principle to ministry:

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth." - 1 Corinthians 3:6 (ESV)

What Does This Mean?

This is a promise from God's economy, which often operates opposite to the world's logic. The world says, "Conserve and hoard for yourself." God says, "Give, and it will be given to you" (Luke 6:38).

· "One who waters": This refers to anyone who invests in the growth and well-being of others. This could be through:

  · Encouragement and emotional support

  · Teaching and discipleship

  · Generous giving and meeting practical needs

  · Prayer and intercession

  · Sharing the Gospel and spiritual truth

· "Will himself be watered": This is the divine return. As we pour out, God promises to pour back into us. This doesn't always mean we get the same thing back from the same person. God Himself ensures that we are refreshed, encouraged, and blessed in ways we may not expect. We cannot outgive God.

A Prayer to Be a Refreshing Waterer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Your promise that as I water others, I too will be watered. You are the ultimate source of all living water.

Give me a generous and discerning heart. Show me who needs to be "watered" today—who needs encouragement, a kind word, a practical gift, or a prayer. Make me a conduit of Your refreshment to a dry and thirsty world.

I trust You to honor Your word. I don't give to get, but I receive Your promise by faith that as I pour out, You will faithfully pour back into me, so that I never run dry.

Thank you for the privilege of being used by You to bless others.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Poem: "Those Who Water"

"Those Who Water"

You cannot give a cup of grace, Without reflecting the Giver's face. You cannot help a soul to grow, Without God's life in you to flow.

The one who waters other's dreams, Will find themselves by cooling streams. The one who gives another drink, Will find their own soul at the brink.

Of joy and peace and deep reward, Bestowed upon them by the Lord. For in the giving,we receive, And in the sowing,we believe.

So water well, and water true, The work that God has given you. And you will find your own heart filled, With living water, softly spilled.

For those who water, shall be watered, And never be alone or martyred. But they will thrive, and they will see, The fruit of their fidelity.

Be encouraged to pour into the lives of those around you today. Give generously of your time, your encouragement, and your resources. Trust that the God who sees your heart will Himself ensure that you are refreshed and blessed in return. You are investing in an eternal harvest.
