Amen. What a powerful and personal declaration of devotion! To say to Jesus, "You are the beginning and ending of my faith" is to acknowledge that He is the source, the sustainer, and the ultimate goal of your entire spiritual journey. This statement captures the essence of what it means to live by faith.
This truth is beautifully expressed in Scripture:
"looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2 (ESV)
Jesus is both the founder (the author, source, beginner) and the perfecter (the finisher, completer) of our faith.
What Does This Mean?
· The Beginning of Your Faith: You did not initiate your faith. Your faith began with Him. It was His love that drew you, His sacrifice that made a way for you, and His Spirit that awakened your heart to believe. He is the author.
· The Ending of Your Faith: Your faith is not aimless. It has a destination—Him. Your faith will be made complete and perfect when you finally see Him face to face. Every step of your journey is moving toward a deeper knowledge and closer relationship with Him. He is the goal.
Your faith starts with Jesus, is sustained by Jesus, and will one day be fulfilled in Jesus. He is the Alpha and Omega of your salvation.
A Prayer of Surrender
Lord Jesus,
I declare it today: You are the beginning and the ending of my faith.
You are the one who started this work in me. Thank you for drawing me to Yourself, for opening my eyes to see Your beauty, and for giving me the gift of faith to believe.
You are the one who sustains my faith. When I am weak, You are my strength. When I doubt, You are my certainty. When I stumble, You are my help.
And You are the glorious goal of my faith. One day my faith will become sight. I will see You face to face, and my journey will be complete. Until that day, keep my eyes fixed on You, the author and perfecter of it all.
I trust You with everything—from the beginning to the end.
In Your mighty name, Amen.
A Poem: "Beginning and End"
"Beginning and End"
My faith did not begin with me, A thought I had,a truth to see. It was Your voice that called my name, And lit my heart with holy flame.
You are the beginning of my faith, The one who saved my soul from wraith. The author, source, the living Word, By whom my spirit first was stirred.
And now I run this race, this path, Guarded from the evil one's wrath. But I don't run by strength of mine, But by Your power, love divine.
And at the finish line, I'll see, The One who bled to set me free. My faith will end where it began, In the presence of the Son of Man.
You are the ending of my faith, The one who conquered sin and death. The perfecter, the glorious goal, The one who makes the wounded whole.
So from the start until the end, On You alone,I will depend. You are my all,my everything, My faithful,never-ending King.
Hold tightly to this truth. Your faith is secure because it is anchored in Him, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
