Bless Your Children, Lord

Bless your children, Lord, we pray, With grace and mercy for this day. Not with riches the world bestows, But with the peace Your presence knows.

Bless them with identity, deep and true, The settled heart that comes from You. To know they're loved,and chosen, dear, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”(1 John 3:1) And held as Yours,through every fear.

Bless them with strength to stand alone, When tempted by the world's dull tone. Armor of light,the belt of truth, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”(Ephesians 6:10) Guard their innocence and youth.

Bless them with purpose, a path made plain, A life of impact,not in vain. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,”(Ephesians 2:10) Which You prepared for them to walk. A faith that speaks in deeds,not talk.

Bless them with joy that is their strength, Found in You,to any length. A song of praise upon their lips, Through life's most turbulent eclipse.

Bless them with peace that guards their heart, When worries threaten to pull apart. “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 4:7) A calm that only You can give, The quiet confidence to live.

And bless them, Lord, with eyes to see, The needs of others,humility. A generous hand,a kind, soft word, So like their Savior,Jesus, Lord.

And when the journey finds its end, On their faithfulness,Lord, please depend. To hear the words,“Well done,” from You, Is every blessing,fresh and new.

Bless Your children, Lord, we plead, For every soul,for every need. And let our lives,a blessing be, To point them,Lord, to Thee.
