All creation cry, Holies!

That powerful image—of all creation joining in a universal chorus of praise—is a magnificent theme straight from Scripture. Here is a poem inspired by that vision.

---

All Creation Cries, "Holy!"

The morning sun, a golden crest, Declares the glory of the rest. The silent heavens, deep and wide, Proclaim the work of God,their guide. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”(Psalm 19:1)

The wind’s wild song, the ocean’s roar, A thunderous anthem evermore. The gentle rain, the river’s flow, In constant worship, onward go.

The mountain, old and draped in snow, Stands firm,a testament to show The strength of its Creator’s hand, And cries“Holy!” across the land.

The forest joins, a rustling choir, Its leaves a prayer of pure desire. The desert stone, the field of wheat, In whispered reverence, bow down.

The eagle’s cry, the humbled worm, The fleeting firefly’s tiny term. The lion’s might, the lamb’s soft bleat, A symphony of praise complete.

But we, the crown, with breath and soul, Who seek to reason and control, So often hold our silent tongue, While all creation’s song is sung.

Break open our deaf ears to hear The cosmic chorus, sharp and clear! Unstop our mouths, and let us be Joined with the land, the sky, the sea!

For every rock would shout Your praise Through all eternity’s long days. “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the very stones will cry out.”(Luke 19:40)

So let our voices join the sound Where life and sacred love abound! “Holy, Holy, Holy Lord!” Let all creation sing in one accord! “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”(Revelation 4:8)

Let every creature, great and small, The Maker of them all,now call— With one vast voice, from sky to sod, All creation cries,"Holy is our God!"
