You are the same yesterday, today and forever.

 Amen. That is one of the most stabilizing, comforting truths in all of Scripture. Here is a poem on the eternal, unchanging nature of our God.

The Same

You are the same. Yesterday’sfaithfulness is today’s sure foundation, Your covenant promises find their continuation. The God of Abraham,Isaac, and Jacob is here, Dispelling my doubt,dissolving my fear. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”(Hebrews 13:8)

You are the same. Today,in the chaos, the change, and the strain, Your character,Your love, cannot be made vain. The same power that raised Christ up from the dead, Is alive in me now,just as You said.

You are the same. Forever.When worlds fade and new heavens begin, Your reign has no end,and no shadow of sin. The Alpha,Omega, Beginning and End, My Savior,my Lord, and my dearest Friend.

The universe shifts, kingdoms rise and they fall, Generations come,and then answer their call. But You are the anchor,the constant, the true, And because You are changeless,Your promises too.

So I build my whole life on this rock-solid truth: The God of my past is the God of my youth, The God of my now,and the God of my end. On this faithful,unchanging God, I depend.

Hallelujah! You are the same!
