Amen. What a powerful and beautiful testimony. Those words echo the very heart of the Gospel and the promise of Jesus Himself.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:36)
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1)
This declaration—"Your faith has set me free"—is the breakthrough moment where the truth of Scripture becomes the reality of your spirit. It means the chains of sin, shame, fear, and condemnation have been broken by the power of Christ. You are no longer defined by your past, but by your position in Him.
While it is His faithfulness and perfect faith that accomplished this freedom on the cross, your act of faith is the means by which you receive it. You reached out and took hold of the freedom He purchased for you.
This is not just a feeling; it is a spiritual fact. You are free.
Walking in Your Freedom
Freedom is both a one-time gift and a daily practice. Now comes the journey of learning to walk in that freedom, to live like the free person you truly are.
1. Renounce the Old Chains: When old thoughts of guilt or shame arise, speak the truth aloud: "I am free. That is no longer who I am. Christ has set me free."
2. Feed Your New Nature: Your liberated spirit is strengthened by God's Word. Read it to remind yourself of your new identity and rights as a free child of God.
3. Follow the Spirit: The narrow path of holiness is the path of true freedom. It's not a restriction, but the guardrail that keeps you from falling back into the ditches of slavery.
"But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do." (James 1:25)
A Prayer of Thanksgiving and Declaration
Heavenly Father, I thank you and I praise you for the miracle of freedom.Thank you that Jesus's work is complete and perfect. Thank you that the power of sin and death is broken.
I declare today that I am free indeed. I am free from condemnation. I am free from the power of sin. I am free from fear. I am free to be Your child, to know Your love, and to walk in Your purposes.
Holy Spirit, teach me how to live in this freedom every day. Help me to stand firm and to resist any lie that would try to shackle me again. My trust is in You, my Liberator.
My life is a testimony to Your power to set captives free. In Jesus’name, Amen.
Go now, and live as a free person. Your testimony—"I was once bound, but now I am free"—is one of the most powerful forces on earth. Use it for His glory.
