Protect me from evil.

This is a prayer we all need to pray every day. Here is a prayer for protection, grounded in the faithfulness of God.

Protect Me From Evil

Protect me from evil, O Lord, I pray, The evil without,and within today. The seen and the unseen,the cunning, the crude, From every intention and attitude.

Be my strong fortress, my shield, and my light, My guard in the day,and my watch in the night. When the predator prowls,seeking to devour, Be my salvation,my refuge, my power. “Deliver us from the evil one.”(Matthew 6:13)

Plant my feet firmly on Your solid rock, Let me not falter or gape at the shock Of the enemy’s schemes or his hollow display— Remind me You’ve triumphed and won the great day.

Protect not just my body, but my mind and my heart, Let Your truth and Your holiness seal every part. Let no foul thing find any place to abide, As in the shadow of Your wings,I hide. “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”(2 Thessalonians 3:3)

I put on the armor Your word has supplied, In Your strength alone,will I firmly abide. I take up the shield of unyielding,strong faith, And trust in Your promise,my life and my breath.

Protect me from evil, my Savior, my King, And under Your authority,safety I sing.
