Amen. What a powerful and comforting truth. To know we have not one, but divine Advocates who speak for us before the Father is the foundation of our confidence. Here is a poem celebrating our heavenly defense.

My Advocates Before God
When I stand silent, shamed by sin, When accusations rise within, When Satan points his awful finger, And my own failing makes me linger…
I have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He stands for me before the throne, And says,“My work for her is done.” “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.”(1 John 2:1)
He does not make excuses for my fall, He points instead to He who paid it all. He shows His wounds,His side, His hands, The proof that fulfills all demands. “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”(Hebrews 7:25)
And when I do not know how to pray, When words and sorrow lead astray, Another Advocate groans deep inside, And with my spirit,He does abide. “The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”(Romans 8:26)
So Two are there to plead my case, To lavish me with holy grace. The Son who died to make me right, The Spirit who is truth and light.
I am not left to face the court alone, My fate upon my worth to be thrown. My Advocates before God stand for me, And in their hands,my soul will be.
I am defended. I am secure.
Amen.
