Seek first the kingdom of God and all will be added unto us.

 Amen. That is the master key to a life of peace and provision. Here is a poem on that foundational command and promise.

First Things First

Not second, not when I have time, Not with a reason or a rhyme, Butfirst, a singular pursuit, The lovely,life-giving Kingly root. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”(Matthew 6:33)

Before the worry, before the care, Before I sink into despair, Before I plan and strive and store, I seek Your Kingdom,Lord, once more.

To seek Your rule, Your righteous way, In every moment of my day. To value what You value most, To host Your Spirit as my host.

And in that seeking, I am found, And on that hallowed,promised ground, The“all these things”—the daily bread, The path on which my feet are led— Are added by Your faithful hand, Across this bright and promised land.

Not as the prize for which I strive, But as the proof that You’re alive And watching over all I need, As I upon Your precepts feed.

So let my first thought be of You, And everything I say and do Flow from that primary,holy quest— In Your good Kingdom,I am blessed.
