That is the clear, practical, and powerful wisdom of scripture. Here is a poem on the command to flee.

The Wisdom to Flee
When temptation comes to stay, And whispers I should merely pray While standing in the fiery blaze, Your word commands a different phrase.
Not to stand and fight alone, With strength I’ve never truly known, But to turn my feet andflee— This is the victory You give me. “Flee from sexual immorality... You are not your own.”(1 Corinthians 6:18) “Flee from idolatry.”(1 Corinthians 10:14)
It is no cowardice to run From battles that can’t truly be won By my own will,my own weak heart, But only by Your set-apart And holy power, which makes a way To live within Your grace today. “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace.”(2 Timothy 2:22)
So I will flee, I will not stay, I will not give temptation play. I’ll run to You,my shelter strong, And in Your presence,I belong.
For You, who were in every way Tempted, and know the price we pay, Provide the exit, make the path, And save my soul from righteous wrath. “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”(1 Corinthians 10:13)
So I will flee, and in that flight, Find Your delivering, mighty might.
Amen.
