Promise Keeper

 Amen. This is one of the most comforting and foundational truths of our faith. Here is a poem celebrating our Promise Keeper.

Promise Keeper

You are the Promise Keeper, The Amen,Faithful and True. Every word You have spoken, You are able to do. “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”(Numbers 23:19)

From the first light of creation, To the cross,and to this day, Not one word has failed or faltered, You have never turned away. “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”(Joshua 21:45)

You keep the promise of Your presence, “I will be with you,”still You say. You keep the promise of Your pardon, You wash our deepest stains away. “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matthew 28:20)

You keep the promise of Your purpose, To work all things for our good. You keep the promise of a future, A hope understood. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”(Romans 8:28)

The promise of a coming heaven, Where every tear will be dried. This is the hope we hold onto, With You as our faithful Guide.

So anchor my soul in this surety, When feelings shift and sway. My hope is built on nothing less Than Your promises today.

You are the Promise Keeper. I will trust,and not be afraid.
