I am a Child of God

 Amen. This is one of the most powerful and identity-shaping truths in all of Scripture. To declare "I am a child of God" is to state your eternal spiritual lineage, your divine inheritance, and your deepest identity. This is not a title you earn; it is a relationship you are given through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible affirms this glorious truth:

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" - 1 John 3:1 (NIV)

"For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus." - Galatians 3:26 (NLT)

"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God." - Romans 8:16 (ESV)

What Does It Mean to Be a Child of God?

This identity changes everything:

· You Have a Father: You are not an orphan. You have a perfect, loving, all-powerful Father who knows you, cares for you, and listens to you.

· You Are Loved Unconditionally: His love for you is not based on your performance but on your position as His child.

· You Are an Heir: You have an inheritance that is "imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you" (1 Peter 1:4).

· You Have His Spirit: The Holy Spirit lives within you, confirming your identity, guiding you, and empowering you.

· You Resemble Your Father: You are being transformed to reflect the character of your Father—His love, holiness, and grace.

A Prayer of Affirmation

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the incredible love that You have lavished on me. I am in awe that You call me Your child. I receive this truth today not as a distant concept, but as the core of my identity.

When I feel weak, remind me that I am a child of the King. When I feel alone,remind me that I am forever in Your family. When I feel unworthy,remind me that I am made righteous in Christ.

Help me to live today in the confidence and security of being Your son/Your daughter. Let my words, actions, and thoughts flow from this truth. May I bring honor to Your name.

"I Am a Child of God"

I am not who I was before, I am not defined by my failing score. I am not the sum of my mistakes, Or the heartaches that life makes.

I am not an orphan, left alone, My true identity is clearly known. I am a child of the King most high, Under the watch of His loving eye.

I am chosen, I am loved, With grace from heaven,far above. I am welcomed,I am His, A truth so deep,nothing dismiss.

When doubts arise and try to tell, A different story,a living hell, I will speak this truth aloud, And stand upon this solid cloud:

"I am a child of God! I'm free! This is who defines me! No power of hell,no scheme of man, Can ever change the Father's plan!"

So let me live like one who knows, The love from which this status flows. Let me bear the family grace, Till I finally see my Father's face.
