Bless is the day you adopted me.

Amen. What a beautiful and deeply personal celebration of salvation. Here is a poem honoring that sacred moment of being adopted into God's family.

The Day You Adopted Me

Blessed is the day You adopted me, When my soul,an orphan, was set free. You did not ask if I was good, You understood as no one could.

You signed the papers with Your blood, A rising, overwhelming flood Of grace that washed my name all clean, And made me part of what You mean When You say"child," when You say "heir," And took me forever into Your care. “He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.”(Ephesians 1:5)

You gave me Your name, a royal ring, You taught my hesitant heart to sing. You gave me a place at Your family table, A love so steadfast, always stable. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”(1 John 3:1)

No longer stranger, no longer alone, I found in Your heart my eternal home. The past erased, the future bright, You turned my darkness into light.

So blessed is that day, forever blessed, When in Your loving arms I found my rest. I was lost, but then I was found, On that holy, glorious ground.

Thank you, Father, for choosing me, And for that day You adopted me.

Amen.
