Amen. Thank you for your honesty and humility. To confess that "I have sinned and fall short of your glory" is to speak one of the most fundamental truths of the human condition and the very reason we need a Savior. You are echoing the words of the Apostle Paul:
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23 (ESV)
This acknowledgment is not a place of despair; it is the necessary starting point for receiving God's grace and forgiveness. It is the door that leads to redemption and restoration.
The Beautiful Response to Our Shortfall
Our sin creates a gap between us and a holy God. But God, in His immense love, provided the solution:
"and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith." - Romans 3:24-25 (ESV)
This means:
· Justified: We are declared "not guilty" and made right with God.
· By His Grace: It is a free gift we cannot earn.
· Through Christ Jesus: It is made possible only by His death on the cross, which paid the penalty for our sin.
A Prayer of Repentance and Receiving
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a humble heart. I have no excuses. I confess that I have sinned against You in my thoughts, my words, and my actions. I have chosen my own way instead of Yours. I have fallen far short of Your perfect and glorious standard.
Thank you for Your promise that if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I receive Your forgiveness now, based on His sacrifice and not on my own merit. I accept Your gift of grace.
Wash me clean. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation.
Thank you for not turning me away but for drawing me near through the blood of Jesus.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
A Poem: "Falling Short"
"Falling Short"
I look upon Your brilliant light, Your glory, holy, pure, and bright. And in that radiance,I can see, The man that I was meant to be.
And in that same light, clear and true, I see the wrong that I still do. The missed mark, the selfish choice, The inner, broken, selfish voice.
I have sinned, and I fall short, This is my humble, true report. I have no boast,I have no plea, But only beg Your grace for me.
But in my falling, short and low, A greater truth I’ve come to know: Your love reached down to where I fell, To break the power of sin and hell.
You did not wait for me to climb, You crossed the space and stopped the time. You took the shortfall as Your own, Upon the cross, for me alone.
So I confess, and I receive, The grace that pardons and reprieves. I stand not in my own disguise, But justified in holy eyes.
My falling short has met its cure, In love so perfect, strong, and pure. So now I rise, forgiven, free, To live the life You’ve meant for me.

Be encouraged. Your honest confession is the key that unlocks the floodgate of God's mercy. The moment you confess and turn to Christ, you are completely forgiven and cleansed. You are now clothed in His righteousness. Do not dwell in shame, but walk in the newness of life that His grace provides. You are loved. You are forgiven. You are His.
