What a Mighty God.

 What a Mighty God

What a mighty God we have!

The One who weighs the mountains in His scale,

Whose breath ignites the sun and guides the comet’s trail.

Before His word, the pillars of the earth were set in place,

And at His glance, the nations rise and fall by grace.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. (Psalm 147:5)

His might is in the thunder that splits the silent sky,

In thewhirlwind of His coming, before which angels fly.

Yet this same might is tender—it shaped the sparrow’s wing,

And holds the weeping child close, the broken offering.

Mighty to save—no chain of hell could His redemption bind.

Mighty to keep—no power can pluck His own from His hand, designed.

Mighty to heal—the broken body and the shattered soul.

Mighty to reign—as King of kings,in perfect, full control.

He is the Rock of Ages, cleft for me, a shelter strong.

TheAncient of Days, to whom all generations belong.

TheLord of Hosts, whose armies fill the heavenly sphere.

Yet He ismy Father, and He holds my every tear.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. (Psalm 24:8)

So let my heart and voice unite with heaven’s endless praise,

And through my days and all my ways, this mighty truth I’ll raise:

What a mighty God we have!

Our fortress and our friend,

Our beginning and our end.

Amen.
