A Prayer for Safe Keeping in 2026
Keep me safe, O Lord.
Not in a cage of fear, but in the fortress of Your faithfulness.
Not from every storm, but through it.
“Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.”(Psalm 17:8)
Keep my soul safe from the corrosion of cynicism.
From the slow leak of faith, from the lie that You are distant.
Guard the garden of my heart.
“Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.”(Proverbs 4:23)
Be the wall of fire around it.(Zechariah 2:5)
Keep my mind safe from the siege of anxiety.
When thoughts spiral into chaos,be my garrison of peace.
“You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”(Isaiah 26:3)
Let Your truth be my helmet.(Ephesians 6:17)
Keep my steps safe from the enemy’s snare and my own foolish wandering.
“The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life.”(Psalm 121:7)
Light my path so I may walk in the way of wholeness.(Psalm 119:105)
Keep my relationships safe—a harbor of grace, not a battlefield of pride.
Where I am called to love, keep me from harm; where I am called to set boundaries, give me courage.
Let my community be a refuge that reflects Your safety.
Keep my faith safe when the ground feels unsteady.
When answers are delayed and the night is long,be the Keeper of my flame.
“I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able
to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.”(2 Timothy 1:12)
For Your keeping is not passive.
It is the active, vigilant, tender hold of the Good Shepherd.
It is the promise that“no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:29)
It is the assurance that even if I walk through the darkest valley,You are with me. (Psalm 23:4)
So I step into 2026 with this plea and this promise on my lips:
You are my Keeper.
My going out and my coming in.
My waking and my sleeping.
My beginning and my end.
Keep me safe in the hollow of Your hand.
Keep me trusting.
Keep me Yours.
Amen.
