Lord, it's my desire to honour you.

 Let It Be So

Lord, it is my desire to honor You.

Not as a passing sentiment, but as the deepest orientation of my soul.

Let this desire be the compass needle of my life, trembling always toward Your true north.

When other desires shout—for comfort, for recognition, for ease—let this one whisper louder, steadier, truer:

"Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name."(Psalm 29:2)

I desire to honor You with my thoughts.

To take every anxious, wandering, or bitter notion captive and present it to You. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

To let my mind be a sanctuary where Your truth is pondered, not a battlefield for lies.

May the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight.(Psalm 19:14)

I desire to honor You with my time.

To see the moments of my day not as possessions to hoard, but as offerings to steward.

To spend my strength on what lasts,to invest my hours in what echoes in eternity.

"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."(Psalm 90:12)

I desire to honor You with my words.

Let my tongue be a fountain of life, not a weapon of death. (Proverbs 18:21)

May my speech be"always full of grace, seasoned with salt," (Colossians 4:6) building up and pointing always back to You.

Let even my silence honor You.

I desire to honor You with my obedience.

Not the grim, dutiful kind, but the joyful "yes" of a loved child.

In the small choices unseen by others and the large sacrifices that cost me dearly, let my life whisper and shout:

"I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart."(Psalm 40:8)

I desire to honor You with my trust.

When the way is dark and the answer delayed, let my steady reliance be my loudest praise.

Let my peace in the storm be a proclamation that You are who You say You are.

"Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you."(Psalm 9:10)

But Lord, this desire is a frail flame.

It flickers in the winds of my weakness,my pride, my forgetfulness.

So I do not merely offer You my desire;I ask for Your power to fulfill it.

"Work in me to will and to act in order to fulfill your good purpose."(Philippians 2:13)

Take this desire and make it durable.

Take this offering and make it authentic.

Let my whole life become a living altar.

Not one built of stone, but of surrendered moments.

Not with the smoke of sacrifice, but with the incense of a life wholly yielded.

Let every breath, every step, every choice be a brick in that altar, saying:

Holy. Worthy. Glorious.

"For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen."(Romans 11:36)

It is my desire.

By Your grace, let it be my life.

Amen.
