 Honour to Thy Name

Honour to Thy name, O Lord, the name above all names.

Before whom every kingdom kneels,and every passion tames.

The name that splits the darkness with a single,piercing word,

The name by fallen seraphim in holy dread is heard.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. (Revelation 4:11)

Honour for the majesty no temple could contain,

Yet honour for the mercy that bore our sin and shame.

Honour for the breath that spun the star and called the sea,

And honour for the blood that bought our full and final liberty.

We bring the honour of our praise, our frail and human song.

We bring the honour of our lives,to You, to whom we belong.

We bring the honour of our will,surrendered to Your call.

Honour to Thy name,O Lord—our first, our last, our all.

Let heaven’s endless chorus be the echo of our cry,

As honour,glory, power rise to You, the Most High.

From the rising of the sun until the day is done,

Honour—endless, rightful honour—to Thy name alone.
