Prayer for Spiritual Blessings
Lord, our Maker and our Keeper,
we do not ask first for the things that pass away,
for the wealth that rusts, the health that fades, the comfort that shifts.
We ask for the truest treasure, the wealth of the soul,
the"spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3)
Bless us with a spirit of wisdom and revelation.
Open the eyes of our hearts.(Ephesians 1:17-18)
Let us not just knowabout You, but truly know You.
Reveal the hope of Your calling, the glorious riches of our inheritance in the saints.
Let every circumstance unveil more of Your nature to us.
Bless us with the spirit of unity.
Make us one,as You are one. (John 17:21)
Tear down every dividing wall in our hearts—pride, prejudice, petty grievance.
Knit us together in love,so that the world may see Your love in our fellowship.
Let our unity be our testimony.
Bless us with the fruit of Your Spirit.
Not as a distant ideal, but as the living produce of abiding in You. (John 15:5)
Letlove, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)
ripen and overflow from our lives, nourishing everyone we meet.
Bless us with the gift of discernment.
In a world of confusing voices and clever lies,
let us have the mind of Christ.(1 Corinthians 2:16)
Let us distinguish light from twilight, truth from half-truth,
the voice of the Shepherd from the noise of the stranger.(John 10:27)
Bless us with the ministry of intercession.
Burden our hearts with what burdens Yours.
Make us watchmen who cannot rest until we have stood in the gap.(Ezekiel 22:30)
Teach us to pray, not just for our own needs,
but for Your kingdom to come in the lives of others.
Bless us with a heart of true worship.
Not confined to a song or a Sunday,
but a life lived as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You. (Romans 12:1)
Let our work be worship, our rest be worship,
our joy and our sorrow be an offering laid at Your feet.
Bless us with an unwavering hope.
Anchor our souls in the promise of Your return.
Let this blessed hope purify us(1 John 3:3)
and fill us with a joyful, patient endurance,
knowing that our present suffering is not worth comparing
to the glory that will be revealed.(Romans 8:18)
Bless us with Your own presence as our portion.
For this is the greatest blessing, the sum of all others:
"The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup."(Psalm 16:5)
Let us desire no heaven but You,no reward but nearness to You.
So bless us, Lord.
Not for our comfort, but for Your glory.
Not to make us spiritually wealthy for ourselves,
but to make us conduits of Your grace to a parched world.
Make us a people so rich in You
that we cannot help but pour ourselves out.
In the powerful name of Jesus, the Giver of every good and perfect gift,
we ask this.
Amen.
