The World Is Full of Your Love
If I could trace the edges of the dawn with my own hand,
Or count the grains of sand that lie upon the farthest land,
If I could map the heavens where the countless star-flames burn,
A greater truth, with each, my seeking heart would learn:
This world is full, is brimming, with the proof of Your great love.
It is the substance of the light that shines from high above.
It is the patience of the soil, the kindness of the rain,
The rhythm of the seasons, bringing life to earth again.
The earth is filled with your love, O Lord. (Psalm 33:5)
Your love is in the chorus of the morning as it sings.
Your love is in the shelter of the eagle’s mighty wings.
It shouts in crashing ocean waves, and in the quiet stream,
And in the million, million ways You turn a hope from dream.
Your love is in the promise that each sunrise will appear,
Your faithfulness is new each morning, casting out all fear.
Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.(Psalm 36:5)
And yet, for all its vastness, stretching farther than my view,
This world-enfolding love has chosen to be personal and true.
It did not stay a distant force,a beauty far away,
But entered in,took on our flesh, our sorrow, and our clay.
So let me see it, Lord—not just in grandeur, wild and free,
But in the daily, gentle grace You pour out lavishly.
And let my life, within this world so full of love divine,
Become a place where others, too, may know that love is Thine.
The earth is Yours, and everything in it.
And it is full of Your love.
Amen.
What part of His creation most powerfully whispers "love" to your heart today?
