 Nothing Compares

Nothing compares to the Promise I have in You.

Not the brightest star that in the night sky burns,

Nor all the wealth for which a grasping heart yearns.

Not the applause of crowds,nor the quietest peace alone,

Can match the settled weight of this cornerstone.

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

It is a Promise anchored in the heavens, firm and sure,

Built on a character forever clean and pure.

A Promisesealed by blood that speaks a better word,

A covenant oath by the eternal God inferred.

It outlasts every season, every changing, shifting trend.

It holds when every human loyalty will end.

It is theinheritance that cannot fade or rust,

The guaranteed tomorrow when today is dust.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)

For the Promise is a Person—Jesus, Christ the Lord.

He is the living“Yes” to every faithful word.

In Him,the hope of glory, in Him, the life set free,

In Him,the Promise-keeping God who died for me.

So let the world offer its fleeting, glittering prize.

I’ll hold with joy the treasure right before my eyes.

Fornothing in this life compares, no, not a single thing,

To the glorious,living Promise found in Christ my King.

Nothing compares.

My sure hope. My eternal vow.

My everything, then, now, and forever.
