Here is a poem for overcoming fear with faith, rooted in the promises of Scripture.
Overcome Fear with Faith
Fear speaks in whispers, shouts, and in the night,
It paints the future bleak and steals the light.
It is a chain,a weight, a chilling lie
That says my God is distant or too high.
But faith, O faith, is not a blinding force,
But trusting in my true and steadfast Source.
It is to hear a different, deeper sound—
The voice of Him on holy, solid ground.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
So when fear says, “You cannot walk this mile,”
Faith answers back,“I can through Christ the while.”
When fear says,“Look at all that threatens you,”
Faith lifts my eyes to see the story’s true
Conductor,holding every single part,
And whispers,“Peace, be still” into my heart.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
This is the overcoming: not that fear
Has vanished from the atmosphere I’m in,
But that my faith,by practice, draws more near
To Him,until His voice alone I hear
Above the storm, the worry, and the din.
And standing there,I find that I have won,
For fear is overcome where faith’s begun.
I choose faith.
I receive power, love, and a sound mind.
Fear, you have no place here, for perfect love has cast you out.
Amen.

Living in This Victory
Overcoming fear is both a decisive declaration and a daily practice. Here are two ways to apply this truth:
· Speak to Your Fear with Scripture: When a specific fear arises, counter it directly with God's Word. For example, if fear says "You are alone," your faith can answer: "The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid" (Deuteronomy 31:8).
· Practice Thankful Trust: Actively thank God for His presence and faithfulness before your circumstance changes. This shifts your focus from the problem's size to your Provider's greatness, building your spiritual "muscle memory" of trust.
