In Your Presence
In Your presence—this is all my soul’s desire,
The end of every seeking, the one true, holy fire.
Not just a place to visit, but the space in which I breathe,
The life within the living, the truest reprieve.
Here, the noise of striving finds a deep and settling hush.
The chains of fear and performance all turn to sacred dust.
For in the weight of glory,in the stillness of Your gaze,
I am fully known and wanted, lost in wonder, love, and praise.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)
In Your presence, wisdom starts, and understanding grows.
In Your presence, healing flows where no mere medicine goes.
In Your presence, weakness finds its unanticipated strength,
And I am rearranged, restored, rebought, at length.
This is the promise and the prize: Emmanuel, God near.
The curtain torn, the way made clear, with every doubt and fear
Dissolving in the certainty that You have made Your home
Not in a temple made of stone, but in my heart alone.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
So let my life be lived here, in this conscious, awake embrace.
Let every moment be an altar in this holy space.
For if I haveYour presence, I have everything I need—
My beginning and my journey,my life and loving creed.
In Your presence.
My home.
My joy.
My constant state.
My everlasting fate.
Amen.
