Roman 3:24-27 amplified.

Here is Romans 3:24-27 from the Amplified Bible, along with a poetic reflection and related scriptures to illuminate this powerful passage about God's gift of righteousness.

Romans 3:24-27 (Amplified)

[24] and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, [25] whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin], because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus' crucifixion]; [26] It was to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus [and rely confidently on Him as Savior].

[27] Then what becomes of [our] boasting? It is excluded [entirely ruled out, banished]. On what principle? On [the principle of good] works? No, but on the principle of faith.

The Gift That Silences Boasting

Not by works, not by deeds,

Not by fulfilling all the law's demands.

Not by heritage, not by creeds,

Not by my own striving hands.

But by a gift—so freely given,

By grace that I could never earn.

Through redemption's price, from heaven,

The Father's love, at every turn.

Christ displayed, the sacrifice,

His blood poured out to make me clean.

Atonement made once for all,

To reconcile what sin had been.

God's righteousness on full display,

Both just and justifier, He.

He passed over sins of yesterday,

And made a way to set me free.

So where is boasting? Gone, erased.

Not by works, but faith alone.

In humble wonder, I am placed

Before His everlasting throne.

No room for pride, no room for shame,

Only gratitude remains.

For Jesus Christ has borne my blame,

And grace, not merit, ever reigns.
