If God is for us, who can be against us.

This is the triumphant declaration of every believer who has placed their trust in the One who cannot be defeated. After all that has been said—the declarations of faith, the gifts of the Spirit, the promise of eternal life—this truth stands as an unshakeable foundation:

If God is for us, who can be against us?

The Scripture That Roars This Truth:

Romans 8:31: "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" (AMP)

This verse comes at the climax of the most glorious chapter in Scripture—a chapter that begins with "no condemnation" and ends with "no separation."

What Does It Mean That God Is for Us?

· He is for your salvation. He sent His Son to die for you while you were still a sinner (Romans 5:8).

· He is for your freedom. He broke the chains of sin and death so you could walk in newness of life.

· He is for your purpose. He prepared good works in advance for you to walk in (Ephesians 2:10).

· He is for your protection. No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

· He is for your future. He goes before you to prepare a place and will come again to bring you home (John 14:2-3).

Who Can Be Against Us?

The question is rhetorical. The answer is: No one who ultimately matters.

People may oppose you. Circumstances may seem against you. The enemy may roar against you. But if the God who spoke the universe into existence is on your side, every other force becomes as nothing.

Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

Isaiah 54:17: "No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord."

The Full Context of Romans 8:

Verses 31-39 form a crescendo of confidence:

"He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? ... Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us... For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

A Prayer of Confidence:

"God, if You are for me, it truly does not matter who is against me. You gave Your Son for me. You justify me. You intercede for me. Nothing can separate me from Your love. Today, I stand on this truth. I will not fear opposition. I will not fear failure. I will not fear the future. You are for me, and that is enough. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen."

If God is for us, who can be against us?

No one. Nothing. Never.

Go in that confidence.
