Because of Christ, i live

Here is a poem of declaration and a collection of scriptures celebrating the truth that our life is found in Christ alone.

Because of Christ, I Live

Not by the breath within my chest,

Not by my striving or my best.

Not by the strength my hands can give—

Because of Christ, I live.

When I was dead in sin and shame,

With no one I could even blame,

He called my name and made me rise—

New life before my eyes.

Because of Christ, I breathe anew,

His mercy carries me through.

Every morning, every hour,

Sustained by His unending power.

I live because He died for me,

Bore my sin on Calvary.

I rise because He rose again,

Forever free from death's domain.

Not I, but Christ, who lives in me,

My old self nailed upon the tree.

Now hidden in the Son above,

I walk each day in endless love.

So let my life, my every breath,

Declare His victory over death.

Let all I am, my voice, my song,

Proclaim that I to Christ belong.

For when this fleeting life shall cease,

And I have entered into peace,

I'll still declare, through endless days—

Because of Christ, I live and praise!

A Prayer of Life in Christ

Lord Jesus,

Because of You, I live.

Not by my own merit,

not by my own strength,

but because You loved me

and gave Yourself for me.

I was dead in my sin,

but You made me alive.

I was lost in the darkness,

but You brought me into light.

Now it is no longer I who live,

but Christ who lives in me.

My life is hidden in You,

my hope is fixed on You,

my future is secure in You.

Let my every breath

be a testimony of Your grace.

Let my every step

be walked in Your strength.

Let my every word

give glory to Your name.

Because of Christ, I live—

not just for a moment,

but for eternity.

In Your precious name,

Amen.
