Jesus Is My Lord

Jesus is my Lord—

Not just a name I speak,

Not just a truth I learned,

Not just a hope I seek.

He is the One who reigns

Over every breath I take.

Over joy and over pain,

Over every choice I make.

Jesus is my Lord—

No other name above.

No other power on earth,

Can match His perfect love.

He is the King of kings,

The Ruler of my heart.

The One to whom I cling,

The One who will not part.

Jesus is my Lord—

I bend my knee to Him.

In every season's storm,

His light will never dim.

He is the risen Son,

The Lamb who set me free.

The battle has been won—

He lives and reigns in me.

So let my life confess,

In word and deed and song,

That Jesus is my Lord,

To whom I now belong.

Scripture for Jesus Is Lord

Confess Jesus Is Lord:

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Every Tongue Confess:

"Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11)

No One Can Say Jesus Is Lord Except by the Spirit:

"Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, 'Jesus be cursed,' and no one can say, 'Jesus is Lord,' except by the Holy Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12:3)

Why Do You Call Me Lord?

"Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" (Luke 6:46) — a call to live out the confession.

Jesus Christ Is Lord:

"For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." (2 Corinthians 4:5)

The Word Was God:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us." (John 1:1, 14) — Jesus is Lord over all creation.

My Lord and My God:

"Thomas said to Him, 'My Lord and my God!'" (John 20:28)

He Is Lord of All:

"For this reason, Christ died and returned to life so that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living." (Romans 14:9)

The Lord Is With You:

"The Lord is with you, mighty warrior." (Judges 6:12) — Jesus, the Lord, goes before His people.

The Name Above All Names:

"He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as Prince and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins." (Acts 5:31, NASB)

The Lord Is One:

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) — fulfilled in Jesus.

You Are My Lord:

"I say to the Lord, 'You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.'" (Psalm 16:2)

The Lord of Glory:

"None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." (1 Corinthians 2:8)

Lord of Lords:

"On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: King of kings and Lord of lords." (Revelation 19:16)

The Sovereign Lord:

"Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You." (Jeremiah 32:17)

A Prayer of Confession

Lord Jesus,

I declare with my mouth

and believe in my heart:

You are Lord.

Not just Lord of the universe,

though You are.

Not just Lord over heaven and earth,

though You reign.

But Lord of my life—

my thoughts,

my words,

my choices,

my days.

I bend my knee before You,

not in fear, but in love.

For You are not a distant ruler,

but a Savior who gave Your life for me.

You are my Lord,

and I belong to You.

Let my life reflect

the One I serve.
