Holy Spirit, fall upon me,

Like a gentle, cleansing rain.

Wash away the dust and weary,

Breathe new life into my frame.

Holy Spirit, fall upon me,

Like a fire from above.

Burn away the dross within me,

Fill me with Your perfect love.

Holy Spirit, fall upon me,

Like a wind both strong and still.

Move where only You can move,

Bend my heart to know Your will.

Holy Spirit, fall upon me,

In the morning, in the night.

Be my comfort, be my teacher,

Be my ever-present light.

Scripture for the Holy Spirit

The Promise of the Father:

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

He Will Guide You:

"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come." (John 16:13)

Filled with the Spirit:

"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18)

The Spirit Helps Us in Our Weakness:

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." (Romans 8:26)

You Will Receive Power:

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you." (Acts 1:8)

The Spirit of the Lord Is Upon Me:

He Will Teach You All Things:

"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." (John 14:26)

The Fruit of the Spirit:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)

The Spirit Himself Testifies:

"The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." (Romans 8:16)

Where the Spirit of the Lord Is, There Is Freedom:

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." (2 Corinthians 3:17)

He Will Be in You:

"For He dwells with you and will be in you." (John 14:17)

Be Strengthened by the Spirit:

"I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being." (Ephesians 3:16)

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better." (Ephesians 1:17)

Not by Might, Nor by Power, but by My Spirit:

"So he said to me, 'This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord Almighty.'" (Zechariah 4:6)

Pour Out Your Spirit:

"I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams." (Joel 2:28)

The Spirit of Life:

"Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:2)

He Seals You:

"When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of His glory." (Ephesians 1:13-14)

A Prayer for the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit of the Living God,

Fall upon me now.

Come as the wind—

stir what is stagnant,

awaken what sleeps,

breathe life into my dry bones.

Come as the fire—

burn away what does not belong,

purify my heart,

ignite my love for Jesus.

Come as the rain—

refresh my weary soul,

quench my deepest thirst,

make me fruitful again.

Teach me, Spirit,

for I have so much to learn.

Guide me, Spirit,

for I cannot see the way.

Strengthen me, Spirit,

for I am weak.

Fill me, Spirit,

for I am empty without You.

I open my hands,

my heart,

my life.

Come, Holy Spirit,

and dwell within me.
