Hossana to the Lord.

Here is a poem of celebration and a collection of scriptures lifting up the cry of "Hosanna" to the Lord.

Hosanna in the Highest

Hosanna to the Lord, we cry,

Let praise arise to God most high!

With palm branches and voices raised,

Our hearts are filled with grateful praise.

Hosanna—save us, Lord, we plead,

For You alone can meet our need.

Not just the crowd of long ago,

But still today, we need You so.

Hosanna to the King who comes,

Not on a throne, but humble, loved.

Riding on a lowly colt,

The Prince of Peace, the saving soul.

Hosanna—let the children sing,

Let every voice its offering bring.

For from their lips, praise finds its place,

And silences the enemy's face.

Hosanna in the highest heaven,

Blessed is He who has forgiven!

The King who comes in the Lord's name,

Forever worthy of acclaim.

Hosanna, Lord, we welcome You,

Not just for what You used to do,

But here and now, in this very place,

Come rule our hearts with love and grace.

Hosanna—soon You'll come again,

On clouds of glory, not as man.

And every knee will bow and say,

Hosanna, Lord, forever and a day.

A Prayer of Hosanna

Lord Jesus,

Hosanna—save us, Lord!

We lift our voices to You,

Not just with words,

But with hearts surrendered.

You came once in humility,

Riding on a donkey,

Welcomed by palm branches and praise.

Come now into my heart,

And reign there as King.

Hosanna in the highest!

Let praise rise from my life,

Not only on Sunday,

But every day.

And one day, Lord,

You will come again

Not on a donkey,

But on the clouds of glory.

Until that day,

I will cry, "Hosanna!"

And live in the light

of Your saving grace.

Blessed is He who comes

in the name of the Lord!

Hosanna in the highest!

Amen.
