This is the cry of a soul that longs to rise above the storms, to gain the heavenly perspective, and to be carried by the unseen currents of God's Spirit. To fly like an eagle is to move not by your own effort, but by the power of the wind of the Holy Spirit.
"Let me fly like an eagle."
The Scripture That Promises This:
Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; they will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired." (AMP)
This is not about sprinting. This is about soaring. It is the promise of supernatural strength that comes not from striving, but from waiting—from abiding in His presence until His strength becomes your own.
What It Means to Fly Like an Eagle:
· To rise above the storm. Eagles don't avoid storms; they use the wind currents to lift them above the clouds. When you fly with God, you are not exempt from trials, but you rise above their chaos and see from heaven's perspective.
· To have renewed strength. Eagles molt and are renewed. You don't soar on yesterday's strength. Each day, He gives fresh grace, fresh mercy, fresh power.
· To fix your eyes on the sun. Eagles are said to gaze into the sun. You fix your eyes on the Son, and He becomes your focal point, your direction, your source.
· To dwell in high places. Eagles nest on rocky crags, inaccessible to predators. You dwell in the secret place of the Most High, safe in the cleft of the Rock.
The Secret of the Eagle:
Eagles do not flap frantically like smaller birds. They spread their wings and catch the thermal currents, allowing the wind to carry them. Your spiritual flight works the same way. It is not about frantic striving. It is about spreading your wings of faith and allowing the wind of the Spirit to lift you.
A Prayer to Soar:
"Lord,
Let me fly like an eagle.
Lift me above the storms that rage below.
Give me the perspective of heaven
so I can see my problems from Your vantage point.
I am tired of running and growing weary.
I am tired of walking and stumbling.
Teach me to wait on You—
to sit in Your presence until Your strength becomes mine.
Let the wind of Your Spirit catch these wings of faith.
Carry me to high places I cannot reach on my own.
Set my feet upon the rock,
and let my dwelling place be with You.
I fix my eyes on You, the Sun of Righteousness.
As I gaze upon Your face,
let me be changed from glory to glory.
Let me fly, Lord.
Let me fly like an eagle.
In Jesus' name,
Amen."
The Promise for You:
You were not made to crawl in the dust of despair. You were not made to scratch in the dirt of defeat. You were made to soar.
· When the storm comes, you will rise above it.
· When your strength fails, He will renew it.
· When the enemy pursues, you will dwell out of reach.
"Those who wait for the Lord... will lift up their wings like eagles."
Spread your wings. The wind of the Spirit is blowing. It is time to fly.
