My Lord, leads me to holiness

Amen. This is a profound and vital prayer. To ask God to "lead me to holiness" is to ask for His highest purpose for your life—to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a desire for a heart and life that reflects His character.

This is not a journey we can undertake in our own strength. Holiness is God's work in us, from start to finish.

"For this is the will of God, your sanctification [holiness]..." - 1 Thessalonians 4:3 (ESV)

"...may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it." - 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (ESV)

Notice the promise: "He will surely do it." Your prayer is an agreement with God's will and a reliance on His faithfulness to perform it.

What Does It Mean to Be Led to Holiness?

It is a process (sanctification) where God, by His Holy Spirit:

· Exposes Sin: He gently reveals areas of our lives that do not align with His character.

· Imparts Purity: He cleanses us from unrighteousness and gives us a new desire for purity.

· Cultivates Christlike Character: He produces His fruit in us—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

· Sets Us Apart: He calls us to live differently from the world, not for show, but as a reflection of His nature.

A Prayer to Be Led to Holiness

Heavenly Father,

Your Word says that without holiness, no one will see the Lord. I long to see You, to know You, and to be like Your Son, Jesus. But I confess that I cannot make myself holy. My own efforts are flawed and fail.

So I ask You now, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, lead me to holiness.

· Lead me into a deeper hatred for sin and a deeper love for righteousness.

· Lead me to the cross daily, where I find forgiveness and the power to die to myself.

· Lead me into Your Word, which is truth and which sanctifies me.

· Lead me to a life of obedience, not out of duty, but out of love and gratitude.

· Lead me to a heart of worship, where You are my supreme treasure.

· Purify my motives, my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Create in me a clean heart, O God.

I surrender every part of my life to Your refining fire. Have Your way in me. I trust that You who began this good work will be faithful to complete it.

Thank you for leading me. I choose to follow.

In the holy name of Jesus, Amen.

A Poem: "Lead Me to Holiness"

"Lead Me to Holiness"

The path is narrow, the way is straight, I cannot navigate my fate. I need a Guide to show the course, To root out sin at its source.

I want a heart that's pure and true, That only beats,Lord, just for You. I want a mind that thinks Your thoughts, A soul by Your own Spirit bought.

So lead me to holiness, O God, Though it may take Your refining rod. Lead me away from the world's broad way, And into Your truth, day by day.

Lead me to the cleft of the rock, Where I can stand and face the shock. Lead me to the river, deep and wide, Where all my sin is swept inside.

Lead me to the cross again, Where I can die to self and sin. Lead me to the empty grave, Where You have power now to save.

This is not a path of my own making, But of Your grace and undertaking. You are the Author,You'll see it through, You'll make my heart resemble You.

So take my hand and do not let go, Through the highs and the lows. Lead me to holiness,I pray, And keep me on that narrow way.

May you walk confidently in the knowledge that God is answering this prayer. He is faithfully leading you one step at a time, making you more like Jesus. Cooperate with His Spirit, obey His promptings, and rest in His grace.

I surrender my life under your mighty hands

Amen. This is a powerful and humble prayer of surrender. To ask for God's hands to be in your life is to invite His active presence, guidance, provision, and shaping influence into every area of your existence. It is a request for the Creator of the universe to personally involve Himself in your story.

The Bible is filled with promises of God's hands upon His people:

"My times are in your hands..." - Psalm 31:15 (NIV)

"For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." - Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

"And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." - John 10:28 (NKJV)

What Does It Mean for God's Hands to Be in Your Life?

· The Hand of Guidance: To lead you on the right path and direct your steps.

· The Hand of Provision: To supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.

· The Hand of Protection: To guard you from evil and surround you with favor as a shield.

· The Hand of Discipline: To lovingly correct and shape you into the image of Christ.

· The Hand of Blessing: To anoint your work, your relationships, and your ministry.

· The Hand of Comfort: To hold you close in times of grief, pain, or uncertainty.

A Prayer for God's Hands in Your Life

Heavenly Father,

I invite You into my life today in a new and deeper way. I ask that Your hands—mighty, loving, and skillful—would be upon me.

· Place Your hand of guidance on my shoulder. Lead me in the way I should go. Make my path straight and clear.

· Place Your hand of provision in my life. Open Your hand and satisfy my needs according to Your perfect will.

· Place Your hand of protection over me, my family, and my home. Be a shield around us, protecting us from all harm and evil.

· Place Your hand of discipline upon my heart. Shape me, mold me, and prune me so that I may bear more fruit for Your glory.

· Place Your hand of blessing upon my work. Let the work of my hands be established and used for Your kingdom purposes.

· Place Your hand of comfort upon my spirit. When I am anxious or sad, remind me that I am held securely in Your grasp.

I surrender my plans, my dreams, and my desires to the shaping of Your hands. Do in me and through me what only You can do.

Thank you for the promise that I am held securely in Your hand and that nothing can snatch me away. My times are in Your hands; I trust You completely.

In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

A Poem: "Your Hands in My Life"

"Your Hands in My Life"

I do not ask for wealth or fame, Or to make a mighty name. I only ask one simple thing, To feel Your hands governing.

May Your hands be in my life, Through joy and peace, and through strife. Your hands that hold the universe, Please hold me,Lord; reverse the curse.

Put Your hands upon my head, With grace and blessing, daily bread. Place Your hands upon my heart, Mend the broken,torn-apart.

Take my hands and make them Yours, To help the poor,to open doors. Guide my hands in all I do, To serve and love,to worship You.

Let Your hands, which formed the sea, Now shape and make the best of me. Let Your hands, which calmed the storm, Now keep my trembling spirit warm.

I place my life within Your grasp, This is all my soul does ask. Your hands in mine, and mine in Yours, A bond of love that secures.

May you feel the sure and steady guidance of God's hands leading you, the strength of His hands supporting you, and the tenderness of His hands comforting you today and always.

Put me under your wings.

Amen. What a beautiful and tender prayer. To ask to be put under God's loving arms is to seek the ultimate place of safety, comfort, and rest. It is a picture of complete trust and surrender, like a child running to a parent for protection and love.

This imagery is deeply rooted in Scripture. God is often portrayed as a protective and comforting parent:

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." - Psalm 91:4 (NIV)

"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." - Deuteronomy 33:27 (NIV)

A Prayer to Be Under His Arms

Heavenly Father,

I come to You now, not with fancy words, but with a simple need. I am weary. I feel exposed and vulnerable to the storms and struggles around me.

I ask You now, as Your child, to gather me in. Put me under Your loving arms.

· Let me feel the safety of Your embrace, where the noise of the world grows quiet.

· Let me feel the comfort of Your presence, where my anxieties are soothed.

· Let me rest in the shadow of Your wings, where I am hidden from all that seeks to harm me.

Hold me close to Your heart. Let my heartbeat sync with Yours—a rhythm of peace and love. Under Your arms, I am safe. Under Your arms, I am loved. Under Your arms, I am home.

I trust in Your promise that nothing can snatch me from Your hand. I surrender my need to control and my desire to understand everything. I just need to be held by You.

Thank you for being my refuge and my strength.

In the name of Jesus, my Good Shepherd, Amen.

A Poem: "Under Your Loving Arms"

"Under Your Loving Arms"

The world is loud, the day is long, I feel the weight of all that's wrong. I need a place to hide away, Until the breaking of the day.

So I come running, Abba, Father, From every fear that tries to bother. I ask for what I know You give, The place where Your protected live.

Put me under Your loving arms, Safe and sound from all alarms. Let Your wings be my retreat, A sanctuary, cool and sweet.

Let me feel Your heart beat strong, A steady, sure, and loving song. Let all my fears and tensions cease, And find in You my perfect peace.

Under Your arms, no foe can reach, Your love alone,Your truth You teach. Here I am healed, here I am whole, Restored again, and made quite whole.

So hold me now, and hold me fast, Let this assurance forever last. That I am Yours, and You are mine, In loving arms, our lives entwine.

Here I will stay, here I will rest, Upon my Father's faithful chest. Under the shadow of Your wing, My heart its highest praise will sing.

May you feel the tangible presence of God surrounding you, protecting you, and comforting you in this very moment. You are held. You are safe. You are loved.

God is Good

Amen. This is one of the most foundational and essential truths of the Christian faith: God is a good God. It is the bedrock of our trust, the source of our hope, and the lens through which we must view every circumstance in our lives.

This is not just a hopeful idea; it is a definitive declaration of His character, repeated throughout Scripture.

"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!" - Psalm 34:8 (ESV)

"For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." - Psalm 100:5 (ESV)

What Does "God is Good" Mean?

His goodness is not a fluctuating state based on our circumstances. It is the unchanging essence of His character.

· His Nature is Good: Everything God is—His love, justice, holiness, mercy—is perfectly and completely good.

· His Actions are Good: Everything God does flows from His good nature. Even when we cannot understand His ways, we can trust that His purposes are good.

· His Will is Good: His plans for us are plans for our welfare and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

· His Gifts are Good: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights" (James 1:17).

A Poem: "God is a Good God"

"God is a Good God"

When the world is shaking, and the fears arise, When the tears are falling from the aching skies, When the question forms of the"why" and "how," Let this truth anchor your soul right now:

God is a good God. Always. He is a good God. He is a good God. Always.

He is good in the light, and good in the night, In the healing rain, and in the desperate fight. He is good when the answer is swiftly clear, And good when He whispers,"I'm still here."

He is good in the gift, and good in the need, Planting a future from a broken seed. He is good in the joy,and good in the pain, Working His purpose like sun after rain.

His goodness is not a changing mood, Dependent on if life is bad or good. It is Who He is,His core, His name, From everlasting,it is the same.

So when the liar whispers, "Does God care?" Point to the cross and show Him there— The ultimate proof, the final word, The greatest goodness ever heard.

He gave His Son, His only One, For us,to make us His daughters and sons. If He did that, while we were His foes, What good thing will He now withhold from those He calls His own?

So breathe it in, and breathe it out, Let this truth silence every doubt: God is a good God. My God is good. And His goodness is the ground on which I've stood, And will forever stand.

---

A Prayer of Affirmation

Heavenly Father,

I proclaim today that You are a good God. Your goodness is not defined by my temporary circumstances but by the eternal truth of Your character and the everlasting proof of the cross.

I choose to trust in Your goodness when I understand and when I don't. I thank You for Your good plans for me, for Your good gifts, and for Your good heart.

Help me to "taste and see" Your goodness anew every single day. Let my life be a testimony to everyone I meet that You are, and always will be, a good, good Father.

In the name of Jesus, the ultimate expression of Your goodness, Amen.

Jesus Christ, My Majesty.

Amen. What a powerful and worshipful declaration. To call Jesus Christ "my Majesty" is to acknowledge His supreme authority, His glorious sovereignty, and His personal reign over your life. It recognizes that He is not just a historical figure or a distant king, but your King—your personal, reigning Majesty.

This title captures His divine nature and His intimate lordship.

The Majesty of Christ in Scripture

The Bible consistently points to the magnificent majesty of Jesus:

· His Eternal Majesty: Before He came to earth, He existed in glorious splendor.

"He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power." - Hebrews 1:3 (ESV)

· His Revealed Majesty: At the Transfiguration, His divine glory broke through for a moment.

"For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.'" - 2 Peter 1:17 (ESV)

· His Present and Future Majesty: He is now exalted and will return in undeniable glory.

"so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:10-11 (ESV) > "They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings." - Revelation 17:14 (ESV)

A Poem: "Jesus Christ, My Majesty"

"Jesus Christ, My Majesty"

Before the world began to be, Your majesty ruled perfectly. The radiance of the Father's light, The King of Glory, power, and might.

You left the throne of heaven's praise, And put on human flesh and ways. But for a moment,on the mount, Your glory burst from its account.

You showed to Peter, James, and John, The majesty He’d always known. Then on the cross,in love and grace, You took my sinful, hopeless place.

You conquered death and rose again, No more to suffer,no more to pain. You ascended to the Father’s side, In glorious triumph, justified.

And now You reign at God’s right hand, The sovereign King o’er every land. The Lord of lords, the Great I AM, The spotless, sacrificial Lamb.

And yet, this Majesty so grand, Reaches for me with nail-scarred hand. You call me Yours,You know my name, My glorious King,I now proclaim.

Jesus Christ, my Majesty, You rule my heart,You set me free. No other ruler,no other throne, I am Your own,and You’re my own.

My life, my will, my all I bring, To serve my Savior,Lord, and King. Let every breath proclaim Your worth, Throughout the heavens and the earth.

A Prayer to Your Majesty

Lord Jesus Christ, my Majesty,

I stand in awe of You. You are the King of Glory, the radiance of God's glory, and the exact representation of His being. You uphold the universe by Your powerful word, and yet You care for me.

I acknowledge Your supreme authority over heaven, earth, and every power. I declare that You are Lord of lords and King of kings. But more than that, I declare that You are my Lord and my King.

Rule and reign in my heart without rival. May Your majestic presence fill every part of my life. Let my thoughts, words, and actions bring honor to Your holy name.

Thank you for being a gracious and merciful Majesty, a King who loves His subjects enough to die for them. I worship You.

Amen.

Creat in me a Clean Heart.

Amen. This is a prayer that is always close to the heart of God, for it is exactly what He desires to give you. A clean heart is the foundation for everything else in the Christian life—worship, service, hearing God's voice, and walking in freedom.

This prayer is modeled after King David's cry after he recognized his own sin:

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." - Psalm 51:10 (ESV)

What Does It Mean to Have a Clean Heart?

A "clean heart" is one that is:

· Forgiven: Washed free from the guilt and stain of sin.

· Pure: Single-minded in its devotion to God, not divided by competing loyalties.

· Soft and Receptive: Open to the Holy Spirit's leading and correction, not hardened by pride or rebellion.

· Aligned with God's Will: Desiring what God desires.

How God Blesses Us with a Clean Heart

This cleansing is not something we can achieve ourselves. It is a work of God's grace, received through faith.

1. Through Confession and Repentance: We agree with God about our sin (confession) and turn away from it (repentance). This is our part in the process.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." > - 1 John 1:9 (ESV)

2. Through the Blood of Jesus: Our hearts are cleansed and made new based on the finished work of Christ on the cross. His sacrifice is the only thing that can truly purify us.

"let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." > - Hebrews 10:22 (ESV)

3. Through the Work of the Holy Spirit: God Himself does the cleansing. He creates a new heart within us.

"I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." > - Ezekiel 36:26 (ESV)

A Prayer for a Clean Heart

Heavenly Father,

I come before You in the name of Jesus. Your Word says that You desire truth in the inward parts and that You can create a clean heart in me.

I confess my need for You. I confess my sins specifically to You now... (Take a moment to silently or aloud name any sins the Holy Spirit brings to your mind—attitudes, thoughts, words, or actions.)

I ask for Your forgiveness, based on the precious blood of Jesus shed for me. Wash me thoroughly, and cleanse me from all my unrighteousness. Create in me a clean heart, O God.

Remove from me any hardness of heart, any pride, any impurity, any double-mindedness. Renew a right spirit within me—a spirit that is steadfast, faithful, and obedient to You.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Fill my clean heart with Your love, Your peace, and Your purposes. Let this purity of heart be the new foundation of my life.

Thank you for hearing me and for Your promise to cleanse me. I receive it now by faith.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

A Poem: "Create in Me a Clean Heart"

"Create in Me a Clean Heart"

This heart of mine, it feels so stained, By every sin that has remained. The selfish thought, the careless word, The broken vows You clearly heard.

I cannot scrub it clean by hand, No matter how I try to stand. I need a work that's deep and pure, A miracle,a lasting cure.

So I come now, to You alone, Before Your mercy's throne. I bring my failure, bring my shame, And on Your grace,I place my claim.

Create in me a clean heart, God, A heart that's right,by Your own rod. A heart that beats for only You, That's faithful, kind, and ever true.

Wash it in the crimson flow, That from Calvary's hill did go. Let it be whiter than the snow, Only Your Spirit can make it so.

Renew my spirit, make it right, A beacon in the darkest night. Uphold me by Your generous grace, So I can run this holy race.

A clean heart, Lord, is my request, For in that state,I am most blessed. For only then can I truly see, And dwell in closeness,Lord, with Thee.

Be encouraged. God is more willing to give you a clean heart than you are to ask for it. He delights in making His children new. Walk today in the confidence of His cleansing and the freshness of a heart made pure by His grace.

Holy Spirit, Please don't depart from me.

Amen. This is one of the most heartfelt and crucial prayers a believer can utter. It echoes the desperate plea of King David after his sin with Bathsheba:

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me." - Psalm 51:10-11 (ESV)

This prayer shows a deep understanding of the Holy Spirit's vital role in our lives. He is our Comforter, Guide, Advocate, and the very seal of our salvation. To feel His distance is a profound sorrow; to crave His presence is the mark of a true child of God.

The Promise for Believers Today

For those who are in Christ Jesus, we have a promise that differs from Old Testament saints like David. The Holy Spirit is not a temporary gift that can be revoked based on our performance. He is the eternal guarantee of our inheritance.

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory." - Ephesians 1:13-14 (NIV)

This means that if you have put your faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit will not depart from you. He has sealed you for the day of redemption. Your feelings of distance are not a sign of His absence, but an invitation to draw near to Him again.

When we feel this distance, it is never because God has moved. It is because we have, through sin, distraction, or neglect of our relationship with Him.

A Prayer for His Presence and Renewal

Let us pray together:

Holy Spirit,

I come to You with a humble and repentant heart. You are my Comforter, my Guide, my Source of life and truth. I cannot live without Your presence.

I feel the weight of distance, and it frightens me. I confess the things that have created this gap—my sin, my neglect of prayer and Your Word, my self-reliance, and my listening to the world's voice over Yours. Please forgive me. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

I cling to the promise that You have sealed me for eternity. I reject the lie that You have left me. I ask now for a fresh infilling of Your presence. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Rekindle the fire of my first love for Jesus.

Help me to be sensitive to Your voice. Help me to grieve what grieves You and to love what You love. Draw me so close to You that my heart beats in rhythm with Yours.

Please, do not hide Your face from me. Do not take Your presence from me. I need You more than I need the air I breathe. Abide with me.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, I pray.

Amen.

What to Do When You Feel His Distance:

1. Confess: Agree with God about any known sin. Repent and turn away from it.

2. Ask: Just as you have done, ask for His presence to be made real to you again.

3. Draw Near: Spend time in worship, in reading Scripture, and in quiet prayer. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8).

4. Wait: Sometimes God allows us to feel a sense of longing so that we seek Him more passionately. Wait on Him. Trust His faithful promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Be encouraged. The very fact that you are praying this prayer is evidence that the Holy Spirit is actively working in your heart, drawing you back into deep fellowship with Him.

Obediance better than sacrifice

Amen. You have stated a profound and critical truth that God emphasizes throughout Scripture. The principle that "obedience is better than sacrifice" cuts to the heart of what God truly desires from His people—a surrendered will, not just religious ritual.

This specific phrase comes from the words of the prophet Samuel to King Saul:

“Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.” - 1 Samuel 15:22 (ESV)

What Does This Mean?

King Saul had been commanded by God to completely destroy the Amalekites and all their possessions. Instead, he spared the king and kept the best livestock, intending to sacrifice them to God later. He believed a good religious ceremony could compensate for direct disobedience.

God's response through Samuel makes it clear:

· Sacrifice without obedience is empty religion. It is attempting to please God on our own terms rather than His. It is giving God what we want to give Him (often for our own benefit or appearance) instead of what He has asked for.

· Oedience is an act of the heart. It requires humility, trust, and surrender. It says, "Your ways are higher than mine, and I will trust you even when I don't understand."

· God values our "yes" more than our offerings. The most costly sacrifice is worthless if it is offered with a disobedient and prideful heart.

Biblical Examples

1. King Saul (1 Samuel 15): Disobeyed a direct command and tried to cover it with sacrifice. Result: He lost his kingdom.

2. Cain and Abel (Genesis 4): Cain brought a sacrifice from his harvest, but Abel brought the firstborn of his flock and their fat—the best, as God had likely instructed. God looked with favor on Abel's obedient offering, not Cain's casual one.

3. Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:5-7): Jesus perfectly fulfilled this principle. He came to do the Father's will, not just offer sacrifices. His ultimate obedience—"not my will, but yours be done"—led to the one perfect sacrifice that ended all others.

A Poem: "Obedience Better Than Sacrifice"

"Obedience Better Than Sacrifice"

You can bring the finest lamb, The perfect offering from your hand. You can sing the loudest song, And think that nothing can be wrong.

You can build a altar high, Beneath the sacred sky. You can give your tithe and gold, A pious story to be told.

But if your heart is far from Me, And from My ways you choose to flee, If you ignore My clear command, And on your own will take your stand—

Your sacrifice is empty noise, It does not please Me,it destroys. For I look past the outward show, And to the heart I deeply know.

I’d rather have a simple “yes,” In times of joy and of distress. I’d rather have a trusting heart, That chooses Me,and not its art.

For what is worship, if it’s not, To walk the path that I have wrought? To love your neighbor, speak the truth, To mercy give,in age and youth?

So do not bring your gift in vain, While disobedience is your chain. First come to Me,and obey My voice, Then in My will, you will rejoice.

For obedience is the sacrifice, That truly, deeply does suffice. It is the language of true love, That pleases Me in heaven above.

---

A Prayer of Obedience

Heavenly Father,

Forgive me for the times I have offered You my religious activities, my busyness, or my own ideas of sacrifice while withholding my simple obedience. I have sometimes preferred the appearance of devotion over the reality of surrender.

Search my heart and show me any area where I am not obeying Your clear Word. Give me the courage and humility to say "yes" to You before I do anything else. I want a heart that listens and obeys more than I want to offer a sacrifice that costs me little.

Thank you that Jesus Christ was perfectly obedient for me. Now, by Your Holy Spirit, help me to walk in that same obedience today.

In the name of Jesus, who obeyed perfectly, Amen.

Make straight the way of the Lord

Amen. This powerful command, "Make straight the way of the Lord," is a prophetic call to preparation. It is an urgent invitation to clear the obstacles out of the way so that the King may come in His fullness—both in our hearts and in the world.

This command was proclaimed by John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus:

"He said, 'I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, "Make straight the way of the Lord," as the prophet Isaiah said.'" - John 1:23 (ESV)

John was referencing the prophecy in Isaiah:

"A voice cries: 'In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.'" - Isaiah 40:3 (ESV)

What Does It Mean?

In ancient times, before a king visited a part of his realm, a crew would be sent ahead to repair the road—to fill in potholes, clear away debris, and straighten out crooked paths to ensure a smooth and direct journey for the royal procession.

Spiritually, this is what we are called to do:

· It is a Call to Repentance: The primary way we "make straight" the way is through repentance. We remove the obstacles of sin, pride, and self-reliance that hinder God's rule in our lives.

· It is a Call to Preparation: We prepare our hearts to receive more of Jesus, to hear His voice more clearly, and to welcome His presence.

· It is a Call to Action: It involves actively removing everything that distorts or blocks the truth of who God is, both in our own lives and in the world around us.

How Do We "Make Straight the Way"?

1. In Our Hearts (Personal Preparation):

   · Repent of Sin: Identify and confess any known sin. This is like filling in the potholes of rebellion and disobedience.

   · Humble Ourselves: Level the mountains of pride and self-importance. Acknowledge your need for God.

   · Surrender Control: Straighten the crooked places of self-will and manipulation. Yield your plans and desires to His lordship.

   · Forgive Others: Clear the debris of bitterness and unforgiveness that blocks the flow of God's love.

2. In Our World (Corporate Preparation):

   · Live Righteously: Be a person of integrity, showing a clear path to God through your actions.

   · Proclaim Truth: Share the gospel clearly and without distortion, "straightening" the crooked messages of the world.

   · Serve and Love: Prepare the way for others to meet Jesus by meeting their practical needs and showing them Christ's love.

A Poem: "Make Straight the Way"

"Make Straight the Way"

A voice cries out in the wilderness space, “Prepare ye the way of God’s grace! Make a highway straight and true, For the Lord is coming to visit you.”

The King is coming! Prepare the road! Lay down your self-made,heavy load. Fill in the valleys of fear and despair, With promises from His Word and prayer.

Level the mountains of arrogance, pride, Let humility be your faithful guide. Make the crooked places of willfulness straight, Open the gate, before it’s too late.

Clear out the rubble of yesterday’s sin, Let the work of new life begin. Sweep clean the heart, make a royal plain, For the Savior to come and forever reign.

This is not a work of your hand and your might, But surrendering to His Spirit’s light. Allowing His plough to break up the ground, Where the thorny, bitter roots are found.

So let every heart be prepared and made ready, Let your spirit be steady, your hands be steady. Make straight the way for the King to appear, In your heart,in your home, in this very year.

A Prayer to Make Straight the Way

Lord God,

I hear Your call to make straight the way. I want to prepare a highway for You in my heart and in my life.

Search me, O God, and know my heart. Reveal any crooked way within me. Show me the valleys of doubt that need to be filled with Your truth. Show me the mountains of pride that need to be leveled by Your grace. Show me the crooked paths of my own will that need to be made straight by Your Spirit.

I repent of my sin. I choose to forgive those who have hurt me. I surrender my plans and my pride. Come, Lord Jesus, and rule in my heart without rival. May my life be a straight, clear path that points directly to You.

Use me to help prepare the way for others to see You, know You, and worship You.

In the name of the Coming King, Jesus, Amen.

Let the bitter root in my heart be forgiven

This is a deep and courageous prayer. Acknowledging a "bitter root" in the heart is the first and most critical step toward the healing and freedom that God offers.

The term "bitter root" comes from Scripture, which gives us both a warning and the path to forgiveness and healing:

"See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no 'root of bitterness' springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled." - Hebrews 12:15 (ESV)

This verse tells us that a root of bitterness is not only poisonous to us but it also spreads its poison to others ("defiles many"). Your desire to have it forgiven and removed is a work of the Holy Spirit in you.

A Prayer for Forgiveness and Healing

Let us pray together. Pray these words from your heart:

Heavenly Father,

I come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, humbled and honest about the condition of my heart. You see everything, and You know the bitterness that has taken root within me.

I confess this sin to You now. I have held onto hurt, anger, and resentment. I have nurtured a bitter root through my thoughts and my refusal to forgive. I have allowed it to poison my heart and affect my relationships. Forgive me, Lord. Forgive me for choosing bitterness over Your grace, resentment over Your peace.

Right now, by an act of my will, I choose to forgive those who have hurt me. I release them from the debt I feel they owe me. I let go of my right to revenge. This is difficult, but I do it in obedience to You and by the power of Your Spirit.

Now, Lord, I ask You to do what only You can do. I ask You to uproot this bitterness from my heart. Pluck it out, every last fiber of it. Where this root has grown, I ask You to pour out the healing balm of Your love and forgiveness. Sanctify the soil of my heart. Plant new seeds—seeds of peace, joy, love, and forgiveness.

Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). I stand on that promise now. I receive Your forgiveness. I receive Your cleansing.

Thank you for setting me free. Help me to walk in this newness of life, guarded by Your peace.

In Jesus' powerful name, Amen.

Steps to Walk in Freedom After This Prayer:

1. Receive God's Forgiveness: Believe that when you confessed, He forgave you. Do not take the burden back upon yourself. You are cleansed.

2. Guard Your Heart: Bitterness often tries to return. When memories of the hurt arise, consciously choose to reaffirm your forgiveness. Say out loud, "I have forgiven that. I choose peace."

3. Fill the Space with Truth: Read and meditate on Scriptures about God's love, grace, and peace (e.g., Philippians 4:6-8, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Let God's Word fill the space where the bitterness was.

4. Ask for a Blessing: A powerful step to solidify forgiveness is to pray for God's blessing upon the person who hurt you. This is not for their sake, but for yours—it severs the last chains of bitterness.

You are not alone in this. The very fact that you are praying this prayer shows that God is already at work in your heart, healing and restoring you.

Let Heaven rejoice.

This is a call to cosmic celebration. Here is a poem for that heavenly joy.

---

Let Heaven Rejoice

Let heaven rejoice with a thunderous voice! Let the cosmos itself in triumph explode! For the battle is won,the Victor is known, And the weight of His glory is fully bestowed!

Let the angels who witnessed creation’s first dawn, Who have known His full splendor since time first began, Lift praises unending,a crystalline sea, For the completion of His great redemption plan. “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’”(Revelation 5:13)

Let the stars sing for joy in their galaxies spun, Let the mountains crash cymbals, exulting and grand, For the Lamb that was slain has now taken His throne, And is holding His own in the palm of His hand.

Let the martyrs rise up in a jubilant cry, Let the saints through the ages all join in the song, For the story is finished, the ending is sure, And the right has prevailed over every wrong. “Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns!’”(1 Chronicles 16:31)

Let my own heart, now tuned to the music above, Find its place in this chorus,so mighty and vast. For the reason for joy is not circumstance, but this: Our God reigns forever! This joy will hold fast.

Let Heaven Rejoice! For the King has come home, And He brings us,His ransomed, to be with Him there. Hallelujah!Amen! Let the universe shout! For our God—He is with us,beyond all compare.

Amen.

God Immanuel is with us.

Amen. That is the greatest promise and the deepest comfort. Here is a poem celebrating the truth of God With Us.

---

God With Us

The name is whispered on the winter air, A promise spoken into deep despair. Not a distant god,who rules from far away, ButGod With Us, in the midst of our day. “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).(Matthew 1:23)

In every joy, His presence is the light, In every long and lonely, aching night. In crowded streets,in quiet, empty rooms, Dispelling all the shadows and the glooms.

He is with us in the furnace, in the flood, In the fiercest trial,His presence is our good. He is with us in the ordinary, plain, In moments of delight, and moments of pain. “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matthew 28:20)

We are not left as orphans, lost, alone, For He has made our weary heart His home. The veil is torn, the great divide is crossed, No greater love could ever be,at such a cost.

So let the world be loud, let chaos reign, This one sure truth will evermore remain: Whatever comes, whatever is in store, God With Us,now and evermore.

Hallelujah! Immanuel! Our God is with us.All is well.

Amen.

Let heaven shout Halleluyah

This is a cry of triumph and eternal praise. Here is a poem that joins in that heavenly shout.

---

Let Heaven Shout

Let heaven shout, "Hallelujah!" Let every voice, both great and small, In one eternal, thunderous cry, Proclaim that Christ is Lord of all! “Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude… shouting: ‘Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.’”(Revelation 19:6)

Let angel hosts the anthem raise, Let stars their silent worship sing, Let all creation find its voice For the returning, glorious King. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”(Psalm 19:1)

Let every chain of sin be broke, Let every shadow flee away, Let every knee in reverence bow, On that great, overwhelming day. “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”(Philippians 2:10)

Let my own heart beat out the tune, A preview of the joy to be, When heaven's shout fills all the earth, And we are finally, fully free.

Hallelujah! Let it ring! Through heaven's dome, let praises soar! For death is dead, and Christ is King! Hallelujah!Forevermore!

Amen.

Bring me from Glory to Glory

That is a powerful prayer for spiritual growth and transformation. Here is a poem reflecting that journey.

---

From Glory to Glory

Not by my power, not by might, But by Your Spirit's glorious light, Transform this vessel, weak and plain, Through fleeting joy,and lasting pain. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”(2 Corinthians 3:18)

Bring me from glory to glory, Lord, By the sharp edge of Your word. Shape my heart to Your design, Less of mine, and more of Thine.

Let each triumph, each trial's end, A deeper love for You intend. Let every step, both lost and won, Make me more like Your perfect Son. “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.”(Romans 8:29)

Not to a pride that stands alone, But to a glory You alone own. A reflection of Your grace and story, This is the path from glory to glory.

So take my hand, and do not cease, Lead me into Your perfect peace. Until I see,on that far shore, Your glory, forevermore.

Amen.

If God is for us, who can be against us.

Amen. That is one of the most powerful, confident, and triumphant declarations in all of Scripture. It is a truth that can steady our souls in any storm and give us courage in any battle.

This glorious promise is found in Paul's letter to the Romans:

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31 (NKJV)

The Context: "These Things"

To understand the immense power of this verse, we must ask: "What things?" The verse before it (Romans 8:30) talks about the unbreakable chain of God's redemption: those He predestined, He called; those He called, He justified; those He justified, He glorified.

And the verses that follow (Romans 8:32-39) expand on this truth with a series of questions that expect a resounding "NO ONE!" as the answer:

· Will He not also graciously give us all things? (Yes!)

· Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? (No one! God justifies.)

· Who is he that condemns? (No one! Christ died and intercedes.)

· Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (Nothing!)

So, "If God is for us..." is the climax of a argument about the absolute, unassailable security of the believer in Christ.

What Does It Mean?

This statement is not a naive claim that Christians won't have enemies or face opposition. In fact, it promises the opposite. It means that no opposition that comes against us can ultimately succeed because the Creator of the universe is on our side.

· "If God is for us...": This is the greatest possible assurance. The Greek implies a fulfilled condition: "Since God is for us..." It is a settled fact for those in Christ. God is not neutral or hostile; He is actively for our good, our growth, and our ultimate glory (Romans 8:28).

· "...who can be against us?": This does not mean "who would dare to oppose us?" but rather "who can successfully be against us?" People, circumstances, and spiritual forces will absolutely come against us. But none of them can prevail against the omnipotent God who champions our cause. Their opposition is ultimately futile.

A Poem: "If God Is For Us"

Here is a poem celebrating this unshakable truth.

"If God Is For Us"

The battle rages, fierce and long, The voices sing the world's wrong song. They whisper,"You are all alone," And on your weakness, they fix their tone.

But then a truth, a lightning bolt, A weapon to revolt revolt! A word that shakes the very ground, Where fear and doubt are trampled down.

"If God is for us..." Stop and hear! Let this truth dissolve your fear. The Maker of the stars and sea, The One who holds eternity, Has chosen, called, and placed His claim, And glorifies His holy name— In you.

So who can stand? What foe can rise, Against the fury of the skies? What accusation, what dark shame, Can stand before His holy name? What broken past, what present pain, Can break the links of His sure chain? What future fear, what unknown test, Can pluck you from His hand of rest?

No one. Nothing. Not a one. The victory is already won. The war is over,Christ has prevailed, The enemy's strongest attack has failed.

So stand up straight and lift your head, By living Bread you have been fed. The God of Angel Armies fights, And turns your darkest days to lights.

If God is for us, who can be? The answer shouts triumphantly: No power of hell,no scheme of man, Can change the eternal, holy plan. We are more than conquerors, through Him who loved us so. And this the world will never know.

This Truth in Practice:

When you feel overwhelmed, opposed, or condemned, speak this truth aloud:

· When people are against you: "Since God is for me, your opposition cannot ultimately harm me."

· When circumstances are against you: "Since God is for me, He will work even this for my good."

· When your own heart condemns you: "Since God is for me, the one who justifies me is greater than my heart (1 John 3:20)."

· When the devil accuses you: "Since God is for me, who can bring a charge? Christ is my advocate."

Your heavenly Father is for you. He is on your side. Nothing can stand against Him. Therefore, nothing can successfully stand against you. Walk in that confidence today.

Lord, I surrender my worries to you.

Amen. What a powerful and faith-filled declaration. To say, "Lord, I surrendered my worries to you" is not a passive act of defeat; it is an active act of trust and worship. It is placing your burdens into the hands of the only One strong enough to carry them.

This surrender is exactly what God calls us to do:

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

You have taken the first and most important step: the act of release. Now, let the truth of His promise fill the space where those worries once were.

A Poem: "I Surrender My Worries"

Here is a poem to affirm your declaration and speak truth to your heart.

"I Surrender My Worries"

Lord, I open up my hands, Releasing all my fear's demands. The weight I carried, sharp and deep, I now surrender, give to Your keep.

I release the future, unknown, unclear, I surrender the outcomes I truly fear. I let go the finances, the healing, the need, From this burden,my spirit I free.

I cannot hold them anymore, My strength is gone,my hope is sore. So I place them on Your altar,Lord, In accordance with Your Word.

You did not ask me to understand, Just to trust Your sovereign hand. You did not ask me to have the plan, Just to cling to the great I AM.

So I cast them onto You, Knowing Your promise is ever true. You care for me,You know my way, You are my strength,my hope, my stay.

And in the place of anxious thought, A peace that I cannot be bought, Will stand as guard upon my heart, A grace You promised to impart.

The worry’s mine to cast and release, The peace is Yours to give and increase. The problem’s mine to lay down at the cross, The outcome’s Yours to manage and boss.

I surrender, Lord. I let them go. And watch Your perfect peace now flow.

A Prayer After Surrender

Heavenly Father,

I come to You now in Jesus' name. Thank You for inviting me to cast all my cares on You. Right now, I choose to leave them there.

I confess that I have tried to carry these burdens myself. Forgive me for my self-reliance and anxiety. I declare that You are God, and I am not. You are sovereign, good, and You care for me deeply.

I receive Your peace now—the peace that transcends all understanding. I ask that it would stand guard over my heart and my mind. Help me to now walk in trust, not in fear. When the enemy tries to hand those worries back to me, help me to remember that I gave them to You, and You are more than able to handle them.

Thank you for Your faithfulness. My trust is in You.

Amen.

Fear God, beginning of wisdom

Amen. You have quoted one of the most foundational and recurring principles in all of Scripture. The phrase "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" is the bedrock of a right relationship with God and a right understanding of life.

This truth is stated powerfully in the Book of Proverbs:

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." - Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV)

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." - Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV)

What Does It Mean to "Fear God"?

This "fear" is not a cowering, terrified dread of a malicious tyrant. Instead, it is a profound combination of awe, reverence, and holy respect. It is:

1. Acknowledging Who God Is: It is recognizing His absolute holiness, His unlimited power, His supreme authority, and His righteous judgment. It is understanding that He is the Creator, and we are the creation.

2. A Response of Worship and Obedience: This fear is not meant to drive us away from God, but to drive us to Him in faithful surrender. It is the appropriate response of a creature to their glorious Creator. It means taking Him seriously—His love, His commands, and His warnings.

3. The Ultimate Reality Check: To fear God is to live in the truth that we are accountable to Him. It is the antidote to the fear of man, the love of sin, and human pride.

Why is it the "Beginning" of Wisdom?

The word "beginning" (Hebrew: re'shiyth) doesn't just mean the first step you take and then move beyond. It means the foundation, the source, the controlling principle.

· It's the Foundation: All true wisdom is built upon this right understanding of God. Without it, any "wisdom" is ultimately flawed because it leaves out the most important factor in the universe: God Himself.

· It's the Lens: The fear of the Lord is the lens through which all other knowledge and decision-making must be viewed. It answers the "why" behind the "what."

· It's the Source: All genuine insight, discernment, and understanding flow from this starting point. You cannot have true wisdom that ignores the Author of wisdom.

As Proverbs 9:10 says, knowing God (in this fearful, reverent way) is understanding. It redefines everything.

A Poem: "The Beginning of Wisdom"

"The Beginning of Wisdom"

Before the clever thought is thunk, Before the highest IQ is sunk, Before the degrees on the wall, Before you strive to have it all—

There is a starting point, a place, A foundation of wisdom, truth, and grace. It is not found in books of men, But in the fear of God.Amen.

It is to see His holy fire, And feel a reverent, deep desire. To stand in awe,to know your place, Before the Author of all grace.

It is to tremble at His Word, And know His voice must must be heard. It is to trust and to obey, And walk with Him upon His way.

This holy fear, it is the key, That sets the seeking heart and mind free. It is the door, the very start, To gain a wise and understanding heart.

For fools despise this holy way, They live for just the here and now. But those who fear the Lord above, Are grounded in His truth and love.

So let this be your chief design, To fear the Lord,His will align. For in this fear, you will be wise, And see the world through heaven's eyes.

The fear of God—the start, the source, To guide your every thought and course. The beginning of the wise man's way, Will lead to life that does not sway.

A Prayer for a Wise Heart

Holy and Almighty God,

I stand in awe of You. You are majestic in power, perfect in holiness, and righteous in all Your ways. Forgive me for the times I have taken You lightly, trusted my own understanding, or feared the opinions of others more than I feared You.

I ask today for the gift of a reverent heart. I acknowledge that true wisdom starts with knowing who You are. Be the foundation of all my knowledge, the lens for all my decisions, and the source of all my understanding.

Guide me into a life that honors You, obeys Your Word, and reflects a true and holy fear of Your name.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

If anyone lack wisdom, let them ask from God.

Amen. You have stated a core promise and invitation from the heart of God. This directive calls us to a life of dependent prayer, recognizing God as the ultimate source of all we need.

The promise is found in the book of James:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." - James 1:5 (NKJV)

While this verse specifically mentions wisdom, the principle extends to any genuine need we have, as illustrated throughout Scripture. God invites us to bring our lacks and shortcomings to Him.

What Does This Mean?

This invitation is both incredibly simple and profoundly deep.

1. The Condition: "If any of you lacks..."

   · God acknowledges our human limitations and needs. To "lack" is not a sign of weak faith; it is a universal human condition and the very reason we need God. Admitting our need is the first step.

2. The Action: "...let them ask of God..."

   · The solution to our lack is not to strive harder on our own, but to turn to God in humble prayer. "Asking" is an act of faith and dependence, acknowledging that He is the source.

3. The Character of the Giver: "...who gives to all liberally and without reproach..."

   · Liberally: God is not stingy. He gives generously, abundantly, and open-handedly.

   · To all: This invitation is for every believer, without favoritism.

   · Without reproach: This is the most beautiful part. God does not scold us for asking. He doesn't say, "You should have known this already," or "Why are you bothering me again?" He welcomes our requests with grace and kindness.

What Can We Ask For?

The Bible encourages us to ask God for what we truly need, aligning our desires with His will.

· Wisdom: (James 1:5) For discernment in difficult situations.

· Provision: (Matthew 6:11) "Give us this day our daily bread."

· The Holy Spirit: (Luke 11:13) The ultimate gift that empowers us and equips us with all we need.

· Healing: (James 5:14-15) For physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration.

· Peace & Comfort: (Philippians 4:6-7) In times of anxiety and grief.

· Forgiveness: (1 John 1:9) For our sins when we miss the mark.

A Poem: "Let Them Ask"

Here is a poem of response to this gracious invitation from God.

"Let Them Ask"

Is there a need that I can hide? A lonely ache,a fear inside? A lack of strength to face the day? A wisdom that has slipped away?

Is there a wound that will not heal? A burdened heart, untrue and real? A future looming, dark and unknown? A broken seed that I have sown?

The answer comes, both kind and clear, A word to banish every fear: "If anyone lacks anything, Let them ask from Me,their King."

I do not need to qualify, Or hold my head up to the sky. I simply come,in humble trust, Acknowledging that He is just.

For He gives liberally, to all, And He will never let me fall. He does not scorn my shaky voice, But makes my trembling heart rejoice.

So I will ask, and I’ll receive, And in His promise,I’ll believe. For every lack,He is the source, On His great goodness,I’ll set my course.

**So ask for wisdom, peace, and bread, For daily grace to lie ahead. Ask for the Spirit’s power and love, Sent from the Father’s throne above.

Just ask. He hears. He gives. Believe.**

A Simple Prayer to Ask

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today and admit my lack. I need You. Specifically, I ask You for...

(Here, name your specific need. Be honest with Him.)

...I ask for this, trusting in Your character. Thank you that You are a generous God who gives to all without finding fault. I believe that You hear me and that You will answer in Your perfect wisdom, timing, and way. I receive Your peace as I wait on You.

My hope and trust are in You alone.

In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Leads me to heaven's staircase

That is a beautiful and yearning image. Here is a poem that reflects on God's guidance to our eternal home.

Heaven's Staircase

I cannot build a stair so high That reaches to the home on high, No striving step of mine can win The peace that waits for me within.

So You must be the Stair, the Way, The Truth that guides me every day. Each step is not of stone, but grace, That leads me to that holy place. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”(John 14:6)

Lead me, my Shepherd, by Your hand, Across this strange and fleeting land. Be my forerunner, clear the path, My comfort in Your righteous wrath. “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.”(Psalm 23:3)

Let every step, though steep or small, Be taken in obedience to Your call. And when my weary feet may stray, Correct my course and lead the way. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”(Psalm 119:105)

And at the final step, I'll see The door swung wide, and welcome free. Not by a climb, but by Your grace, I'll finally see You,face to face. “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.”(Revelation 21:3)

You are my path, my journey's end, My Savior and my dearest Friend. So lead me up that glorious stair, And bring me,safely, Homeward there.

Amen.

Ensure my name in the book of lufe.

This is the most vital assurance a believer can seek. Here is a poem and prayer centered on that eternal promise.

---

Written in the Book

Before the world was formed in space, You knew my name, and by Your grace, You promised in Your holy word, A hope too certain to be blurred. “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”(Psalm 139:16)

I cannot earn this sacred line, By works of mine, however fine. It is a gift,by mercy's hand, A promise on which I may stand. “He who overcomes will be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life.”(Revelation 3:5)

I trust in Christ, the Spotless Lamb, The great I AM,the great I AM. His righteous life,His blood, His pain, Have washed my name from every stain. “Everyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”(Revelation 20:15)

So, by His cross, my plea is made, Beneath the price His love has paid. Ensure my name,Lord, let it be Secure for all eternity. “Rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”(Luke 10:20)

Not by my worth, but by Your claim, I rest secure in Jesus'name. This is my hope,my constant plea— You have written, and you keep, me.

Amen.
