May Your face shine upon our life—

Upon our home, our daily ways,

Our quiet thoughts, our earnest strife,

Our ordinary nights and days.

Turn toward us with the look of grace

That melts the shadows we walk through,

And let the brightness of Your face

Make all we are reflect You true.

“The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.” (Numbers 6:25)

Where we have wandered, shine and guide,

Where we have weakened, shine and mend.

Be Thou our joy, our guard, our guide—

Beginning, journey, and the end.

Let not our souls in shadow lie,

Nor fear what darkness may devise;

Lift up the light of Your countenance nigh—

With dawn that breaks through midnight skies.

For in the shining of Your face

Is life, is healing, is release—

The fullness of redeeming grace,

The certain confidence of peace.

May Your face shine upon us still,

In mercy, as You always will.

We lift our eyes to You alone—

Our hope, our sunlight, and our own.
