Show Me Your Way
Show me Your way—not the broad or the wide,
But the path where Your shadow falls close by my side.
Where the footprints are deep with the weight of Your grace,
Leading out of the wilderness,into Your space.
As Moses once pleaded on Sinai’s rough height,
"Show me Your ways, that I may walk in Your light."
Show me Your truth—not the world’s shifting sand,
But the rock of Your promise where steadfast I stand.
Teach me to love what is holy and plain,
To choose the refining,the purifying strain.
"Teach me Your paths,"let my seeking soul pray,
In the stillness of morning, throughout the long day.
Show me Your life—not the striving I know,
But the rhythm of trusting,the ceasing to sow
My own plans like seed in a barren field,
And instead to Your yielding,complete, I will yield.
For You are the Way, and the Truth, and the Life;
You still every storm, You calm every strife.
When the fog of confusion rolls thick and unclear,
And the map of tomorrow brings worry,not cheer,
Speak in that whisper that silences fear:
"I will instruct you and guide you, for I am here."
So I will not lean on the sight of my eyes,
But follow the sound of Your voice as it cries.
For Your way is a person—the Shepherd, the Door;
Your truth is a presence to follow,adore.
Your life is a current that runs deep and sure,
Making even the weakest in spirit endure.
So show me Your way, Lord—my one true request—
And lead me in paths of righteousness, blessed.*
