No point to own the whole world, but lose God in the process.

 Amen.

This is the ultimate warning and the ultimate wisdom—a truth that reframes our entire understanding of success, value, and purpose. Here is a meditation on that eternal equation.

---

The Only Wealth

To own the whole world—

its wealth, its fame, its applause,

To hold every title, to break every cause,

To stand on the peak of all men desire,

Yet in gaining it all, let your soul expire…

What is the profit?

What is the gain?

If in the process, you lose God—

if in the rising, you welcome the loss

of the One who first formed you and died on the cross?

For God is not a prize to be kept on a shelf,

He is breath. He is life. He is your very self.

To lose Him is to lose all, though the world be your own,

To reign in a desert, to sit on a throne…

Alone.

So let me be poor, let me be small,

Let me have nothing, if I have Him all.

For what good is a universe, spun like a toy,

If it means I am stripped of eternal joy?

No point to own the whole world, but lose God in the process.

Keep me, O Lord, in Your closeness.

“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” (Matthew 16:26)

Amen.
