Here is a poem of blessing for your health, woven with the strength of scripture.
A Benediction for These Bones and Breath
May strength, not as the world bestows,
But as a deep and steady stream,
Flow through the channels where life goes,
To realize the Maker’s dream.
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength…”
(Isaiah 40:29)— may this be your stay,
Renewing you throughout the length of day.
And for the mind, so prone to fear,
That spins with worries, vague and gray,
May perfect peace come settle here,
And hold all anxious thoughts at bay.
“Be not anxious, but in prayer let your requests be known…”
(Philippians 4:6)— a gentle command,
To place your health in His sure, guiding hand.
For spirit—spark that He first lit—
May it be nourished, kept from drought.
May living water sate each pit,
And fan to flame each holy doubt.
“I am the Lord who heals you,”spoken true
(Exodus 15:26),for He makes all things new.
A fortress for the heart, a balm
For every ache, both felt and deep.
May you find shelter, safe and calm,
When weariness begins to creep.
“The Lord is… your shade at your right hand,”
(Psalm 121:5)a promise that will firmly stand.
So from my heart to Heaven’s ear,
This blessing,anchored in the Word:
For body, mind, and soul, now hear—
Be healed,be whole, by Christ the Lord.
May every breath become a praise,
Through all your health-renewing days.
Amen.
