Amen.
You have spoken the very name by which John the Baptist proclaimed the Messiah—the One who takes away, who removes, who clears away the sin of the world.

Lamb of God
Lamb of God, who clears away the sin of the world,
You are the sacrifice foreseen from Eden’s fallen gate,
The spotless offering, the holy and ultimate
Answer to our guilt, our sorrow, our weight.
Not like the lambs of old, whose blood could only cover,
You are the Lamb once slain, whose power does clear away—
Who lifts the stain completely, who removes it forever,
Who turns our endless night into eternal day.
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’”(John 1:29)
You do not hide our sin, You do not merely conceal—
You cleanse, You purify, You break its claim and seal.
You bear it on Your shoulders to a tomb left behind,
And leave it there, defeated, for all of humankind.
So here we stand, beneath the fountain flowing
From Calvary’s wounded side, our salvation showing
That sin has lost its power, its sentence has been torn,
For the Lamb of God has risen on redemption’s morn.
Lamb of God, we behold You.
We receive Your clearing, cleansing grace.
The sin of the world—and ours—
You have borne in our place.
Thank You, Jesus, Lamb of God.
Amen.
