Cast your cares to Jesus.

 Cast Your Cares

When cares, like storm-waves, rise and press,

And rob the troubled heart of rest,

When all your strength is worn and thin,

And fears without and fears within—

There is a Voice,both kind and near:

"Come unto Me, and lay it here."

See how the sparrow, small and plain,

Is fed by heaven’s gentle rain.

See how the lily,clothed so fair,

Grows without fret or toiling care.

"Are you not worth much more than these?"

He whispers on the morning breeze.

That heavy yoke you drag alone,

That weight of sin you’ve made your own,

That future dim,that past regret—

All burdens He has not forgot.

"My yoke is easy,"still He calls,

"My burden light" when on Him falls.

Then bring the worry, bring the dread,

The things unsaid,the tears unshed.

Bring all the anxious,restless thought

That inner peace has fought and fought.

"Cast every care on Me,"He pleads,

"For on your heart My Spirit feeds."

Do not be troubled anymore;

Lift up your soul,unlock the door.

In grateful prayer,let requests pour,

And kneel before the One who bore

The weight of all the world’s despair

That you might live without its snare.

And there—beyond all understanding—flows

A peace that guards your heart,and knows

The Father’s hand,which cannot fail,

Will hold you steady through the gale.

So rest your worries, soul, and cease;

For Jesus is your perfect peace.
