Sing a new song to the Lord—

Let it rise from a redeemed soul,

A melody forged in mercy’s fire,

A hymn from the once-made-whole.

Let the dawn take up the tune,

Let the mountains echo praise,

For the chains of old are broken,

By His grace and endless days.

"Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things." (Psalm 98:1)

Sing it with the rushing river,

Sing it with the stable tree,

Sing it from the quiet places

Where His Spirit set you free.

Let the rhythm be your breathing,

Let the chorus be your prayer,

For the Rock of your salvation

Calls your burdened heart to share.

"He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God." (Psalm 40:3)

Sing it not with tired words,

But with wonder,fresh and clear—

For the God who parts the waters

Is the God who draws you near.

Sing it with the saints and angels,

Sing it with the earth and sea,

From the smallest hidden valley

To the vast eternity.

"And they sang a new song before the throne..." (Revelation 14:3)

So lift the new song, heart and voice,

In morning light or shadowed strife.

Sing for the journey,sing for the choice,

Sing for the miracle of Life.

For every moment is a verse,

In the anthem of His worth—

Sing the new song of the redeemed,

Across the heavens and the earth.
