Amen. That is the purest prayer—the heart’s cry that heaven never ignores. Here is a response, a psalm of surrender and trust.
---
I Need You, Lord
I need You, Lord.
Not as a passing,casual thought,
But as the very breath and life I’ve sought.
I need You like the dry ground needs the rain,
Like the confused mind needs a truth made plain.
I need Your strength when mine has reached its end,
Your wisdom when no way I can comprehend.
I need Your peace to still my storm within,
Your grace to cover all my grief and sin.
I need Your hand to guide my uncertain way,
Your voice to speak to me throughout the day.
I need Your hope to lift my eyes above,
Your steadfast,unshakable, covenant love.
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.”(Psalm 40:1)
I come empty, that You might fill;
I come broken, that You might heal.
I come needing—simply,wholly, true—
Because,my Lord, my everything is You.
I need You.
And in Your mercy,You have said,
“You will find Me where your need has led.”
So here I am—dependent, bare, and small.
My Lord,my God, my All in All.
Amen.
