Lord Elohim

 Amen.

Elohim — the mighty Creator, the One who speaks worlds into being, the first name of God revealed in Scripture. To call upon Lord Elohim is to acknowledge His supreme power, His creative majesty, and His covenant-keeping nature. Here is a prayer of reverence to Elohim, the strong and faithful One.

Elohim

Lord Elohim, Mighty Creator of all,

At Your word the stars stood tall.

The seas roared forth, the mountains rose,

And life awoke from deep repose.

“In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

You are the God of unsearchable strength,

Who goes to tremendous length

To shape a people for Your own,

To make Your righteousness known.

“I am Elohim, the God of your father. Do not be afraid…” (Genesis 46:3)

You are the same who formed the dust,

In whom all beings place their trust.

Yet in Your power, You chose to make

A covenant for mercy’s sake.

Elohim, You judge with holy hands,

Yet write our names in sacred sands.

You rule the nations, hold the skies,

Yet hear the humble sinner’s cries.

We bow before You, strong and great,

The Author of our faith and fate.

Yet in Your might, You stoop to save,

To rescue from the gloomy grave.

Lord Elohim — our strength, our stay,

Both now and till the endless day.

We worship You in awe and fear,

For You, Almighty God, are here.

Holy, holy, holy — Elohim Most High.

The earth is full of Your glory.
