I depend on you, Lord.

 Amen. To depend on the Lord is the essence of faith—the surrender of all our own strength for the certainty of His. Here is a prayer of dependence.

I depend on You, Lord.

Not on my understanding,so partial and small,

But on You,the Creator who upholds it all.

Not on my strength that falters and fails,

But on Your grace that always prevails.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”(Proverbs 3:5)

I depend on You for the breath in my lungs,

For the note in my song,for the rhyme on my tongue.

For the wisdom to choose the next step in the dark,

For the kindling of hope,for the defining spark.

When the path disappears and the markers are gone,

I depend on You to keep leading me on.

When my courage runs dry and my vision grows dim,

I depend on the river that flows from within.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”(John 15:5)

I depend on Your mercy, new with the dawn,

I depend on Your promise,my fear withdrawn.

I depend on Your cross,my foundation, my ground,

I depend on the victory in You I have found.

So here is my life, my worry, my care,

My burden,my joy, my doubt, and my prayer.

I release every thread of control I pretend.

My Lord and my God, on You I depend.
