Christ, The Lion of Judah.

 Amen. The Lion of Judah—a title of majestic power, righteous authority, and victorious royalty belonging to Christ. Here is a poem honoring Him.

The Lion of Judah

From Judah’s tribe, a scepter shall not depart,

A promise whispered to the warrior’s heart.

But who could see in that prophecy’s word,

The roar of heaven that would one day be heard?

“The scepter will not depart from Judah... until he to whom it belongs shall come.”(Genesis 49:10)

You are the Lion of Judah, fierce and strong,

Rightful heir to the eternal throne.

The conquering King before whom enemies flee,

The sovereign hand holding history’s key.

“See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah... has triumphed.”(Revelation 5:5)

Yet when they looked, the apostle John saw

Not a lion of war,but a Lamb that was slain,

With wounds of great price,bearing all of our pain.

The triumph was wrought by the sacrifice made,

The ultimate price for our ransom was paid.

So You are the Lion who wins as the Lamb,

The great I AM,the great I AM.

Your roar is the sound of mercy’s great claim,

Your victory the echo of Your holy name.

You silence the accuser with one mighty word,

The roar of Your love is the sound that is heard.

In majesty ruling,in meekness You came,

Forever the Lion of Judah’s great name.

We bow before You, in wonder and awe,

The Lion,the Lamb, who alone saves us all.
