Set us, captives free.

Amen. This is the heart of the Gospel and the mission of Christ—proclaiming liberty to all who are bound. Here is a collective cry and declaration of that freedom.

---

Set Us, the Captives, Free

We stand in the chains we did not see,

Bound by lies,not yet free.

Break every lock with Your mighty hand,

Across this weary,captive land.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”(Luke 4:18)

Set us, the captives, free!

From the prisons of addiction, shame, and night,

From the fear that hides Your glorious light.

From the debt we could never pay,

From the bondage that steals our today.

Set us, the captives, free!

By the power of Your victorious name,

Consume the past, its guilt and shame.

Let every cell door open wide,

As in Your truth we now abide.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”(John 8:36)

We are not meant for a life of chains,

But for the freedom that forever reigns.

You took the keys from the enemy’s hold,

Your triumph is the story told.

So we walk out now, heads held high,

Under the expanse of Your sky.

No longer slaves,but children, heirs,

Casting away all burdens and cares.

Set us, the captives, free—

For this is Your will,Your decree.

Amen.
