"Holy Spirit, bless us with the fruit of the Spirit."
Amen. This is the prayer that transforms character into Christlikeness.
The Scripture That Lists This Fruit:
Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
A Prayer for the Fruit:
"Holy Spirit,
Come and cultivate Your fruit in us.
Let love grow where there was judgment.
Let joy rise where there was sorrow.
Let peace reign where there was anxiety.
Let patience stretch us where we are easily frustrated.
Let kindness soften us where we have become hard.
Let goodness flow from us where there has been selfishness.
Let faithfulness root us where we have been unreliable.
Let gentleness calm us where we have been harsh.
Let self-control strengthen us where we have been impulsive.
We cannot produce this fruit by trying harder.
Only You can grow it as we abide in the Vine.
So abide in us, Holy Spirit.
Prune what is dead.
Water what is dry.
Harvest what is ripe.
And let the world taste Jesus through the fruit You bear in us.
In Jesus' name,
Amen."
The Promise for You:
The fruit of the Spirit is not a list of rules—it is the natural outcome of a life surrendered to the Spirit's presence. As you abide in Christ, the Spirit produces this fruit in you. Not all at once, but steadily. Not perfectly, but genuinely.
Holy Spirit, bless us with the fruit of the Spirit. He is already at work. Let Him grow.
