A Reflection on John 14:26, Acts 1:8, and 2 Corinthians 3:17

Holy Spirit, name above all names—not a title we bestow,

But the very breath of God, the wind that makes the righteous grow.

You are the Advocate, the Comforter, the Seal upon the heart.

Your name is power, love, and truth; You set the captive apart.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26)

Above all names—not higher than the Son or Father’s throne,

But co‑equal, co‑eternal, making all Your glory known.

You are the One who hovered over chaos, bringing form and light.

You are the fire, the rushing wind, the presence in the night.

Your name is Wisdom—You reveal the deep things of God.

Your name is Power—You equip the weak and flawed.

Your name is Love—You pour the Father’s heart into our own.

Your name is Truth—You lead us to the corner‑stone.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses. (Acts 1:8)

So I honor You, O Spirit. Not a force, but a Person true.

You grieve, You speak, You guide, You fill, You make all things new.

Your name is worthy of all praise, though humble Your descent.

You glorify the Son, and You were never, ever lent.

Holy Spirit, name above all names—I bow and call You blessed.

In You, I find my rest, my strength, my comfort, and my test.

Lead me, fill me, use me, keep me, till I see the Father’s face.

Holy Spirit, name above all names—my life is Your dwelling place.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
