Holy Ghost Fire, burn the evil in me.

Holy Ghost Fire, Burn the Evil in My Life

A Reflection on Hebrews 12:29, Matthew 3:11, and 1 Corinthians 3:13

Holy Ghost fire, burn the evil in my life—not to destroy, but to refine,

Not to leave me ashes, but to let Your holiness shine.

Come as the consuming fire, the flame that purges dross,

And burn away every hidden root of sin, every secret loss.

For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29)

Burn the evil that hides in the shadows of my heart—

Every lie I've believed, every wound that keeps me apart.

Burn the pride, the envy, the bitterness, and the shame.

Let Your holy flame consume them in Jesus' name.

Burn the patterns I've repeated, the cycles of defeat.

Burn the whispers of the enemy that make me feel incomplete.

Burn the generational chains, the curses spoken long ago.

Let the fire of Your Spirit make the rivers of mercy flow.

“He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Matthew 3:11)

I invite Your refining fire—not to hurt, but to heal,

To reveal what is hidden and make my spirit zeal.

Burn the evil, Lord, that I cannot see or name,

And let there remain only love, only faith, only holy flame.

Let the fire fall on my thoughts, my words, my deeds.

Let it burn in my family, plant in me holy seeds.

Not with fear, but with power, with love, and a sound mind—

Holy Ghost fire, burn. Leave nothing of evil behind.

His work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. (1 Corinthians 3:13)

So I welcome Your fire, O Spirit. Consume every trace

Of darkness, of compromise, of every hidden space.

Make me pure, make me holy, make me wholly Thine.

Holy Ghost fire, burn in me. Your life in me will shine.

Amen.
