"Protect us from the evil one."
This is the prayer Jesus taught us to pray—and the promise He gave us to believe.
The Scripture That Answers:
Matthew 6:13: "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
2 Thessalonians 3:3: "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one."
John 17:15: "I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one."
1 John 5:18: "We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him."
A Prayer for Protection:
"Lord,
Protect us from the evil one.
He prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
But greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.
Guard our hearts from his lies.
Shield our minds from his accusations.
Cover our families from his schemes.
Block his attacks against our health, our peace, our faith.
You are our refuge and fortress.
Your name is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.
Your blood covers us.
Your angels encamp around us.
We do not fear, for You are with us.
We do not tremble, for You are greater.
Protect us from the evil one—
today, tonight, and every day until we see Your face.
In Jesus' mighty name,
Amen."
The Promise for You:
The One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. He is faithful. He will guard you. He will not let the enemy snatch you from His hand.
Protect us from the evil one. He hears. He acts. You are safe in Him.
