Holy Ghost fire brighten my life.

Holy Ghost Fire, Brighten My Life

A Reflection on Acts 2:3, John 8:12, and Revelation 21:23

Holy Ghost fire, brighten my life—not to burn, but to shine,

Not to consume in judgment, but to make Your glory mine.

Like the flame that rested on the upper room’s waiting band,

Let Your fire bring light to every dark and barren land.

They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. (Acts 2:3)

Brighten my mind—drive away confusion, doubt, and fear.

Let the Spirit’s holy radiance make Your truth so clear.

Where shadows of the past still linger, let Your fire ignite

A new day of understanding, turning darkness into light.

Brighten my heart—warm the cold, the weary place.

Let the flame of love and joy shine brightly from my face.

Where grief has dimmed my spirit, let Your fire begin to glow,

And the oil of gladness pour where sorrow used to flow.

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness.” (John 8:12)

Brighten my path—when the road ahead is steep,

When uncertainty and danger make me want to weep.

Let Your fire be a pillar, guiding through the night,

Turning every step I take into a radiant light.

For You are a consuming fire, yet also a gentle blaze.

You warm, You heal, You purify, You brighten all my days.

Holy Ghost fire, brighten my life—let me not be dim.

Shine through me, shine around me, till the world sees only Him.

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. (Revelation 21:23)

Amen.
