Your name is Life.

 Your Name Is Life

A Reflection on John 14:6, John 11:25, and 1 John 5:11-12

Your name is Life—not just a breath, not just a span,

But the very essence of existence, the resurrection of the man.

Where there was death, You bring a pulse; where there was void, a song.

Your name is Life, and to You, the dead belong.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)

Life—not the shallow, fleeting kind that withers with the years,

But the eternal, overflowing stream that conquers all our fears.

In Your name, the hopeless find a future and a flame.

The sick arise, the captives freed, the broken praise Your name.

Your name is Life for the one who breathes his last,

For the one whose dreams have crumbled, for the one whose hope has passed.

You spoke to Lazarus, “Come forth!”—and death could not refuse.

The same voice calls to every soul that waits, that dares, that chooses.

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.” (John 11:25)

So I speak Your name over the grave of every buried thing—

Over relationships, over purpose, over the songs I cannot sing.

Let life arise where death has claimed a victory for a season.

Your name is Life, and in Your will there is no rhyme or reason

Save love, unstoppable, unending, breaking every bar.

Your name is Life. That is who You are.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (1 John 5:11)

Amen.
